A quick summary on this game... CyberPigeon is basically anti-virus software embodied into everyone's favorite type of bird. But has a gun. The CyberBuster is CyberPigeon's trusty sidearm and can easily delete any virus or enemy that is unfortunate enough to cross it's path.
- Note this video was recorded from an iPad through AirPlay, the game itself runs at a full 60 fps.
This is a quick run on the latest build of CyberPigeon X for iOS devices. I'm just looking for some feedback on it. What you're seeing in the video is the "Endless-Mode," which is basically, survive as long as you can and score a lot of points. I'm prototyping other game modes such as boss battles, bullet-hell stages, and whatever else I can think of.
I'm showing it off to the public in a couple months at a local convention hosted at my former college. I want to wow people. It'll be mostly graphic designers there, so obviously it needs to look good.
The background. I don't think that's going to be final. It has the bokeh look to it, somewhat inspired by some of iOS 7's wallpapers. I've already changed it more than a few times, and it'll probably be hit with a few more revisions. In it's current state, I feel like it'll cause problems on older iOS devices.
The music is placeholder, it is actually made by the guy who is hosting the convention. And I believe he will be helping me out with final music. (More of his stuff can be found at
http://bertjerred.bandcamp.com if anyone is interested, mostly indie music; his 'Synthetic' page really fits in with games). The sound effects are custom-made in Garageband.
There are actually two other weapons already built-in, I just have to work them into the gameplay somehow. These are early videos of them:
- Rocket Launcher
http://youtu.be/ji5C5qt1Bsk?t=1m9s - Laser
But, yeah. That's all I really have to show on it right now. I'm sure most of you haven't heard of it, but this is going to be the successor of my previous iOS game, CyberPigeon (
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cybe...462305304?mt=8). I've learned a lot more about basically everything since I released that game. Art, sounds, and development as a whole. CyberPigeon X is definitely a lot more fluid, the player has a lot more control of the character.
Anyway, I hope enough people see this post to get quality feedback from. I'm aiming as high as I can get with this game.
Thank you,
Brian
