Hey guys,
I made a game I thought I would share with you fellows. The name of the game is Didgery. It's a casual puzzle game that uses cards to drive the puzzling mechanic. It is not a generic match-3 clone. The goal was to build something unique, accessible, epic, atmospheric, and very very fun. Didgery is the result of those efforts.
I guess the immediate downside of building something different is that people may not be familiar with the concepts, and thus sales may be lower, but hey, I would rather lose some cash and make something fresh than make all the dollars from an overused concept.
I could explain the gameplay in-depth here, but it is much better to see it in action to get the idea. You can catch the trailer (
) or the more in-depth Let's Play (
) to get the details of how the game works. In brief, the gameplay is vaguely similar to a combination of Uno, Solitaire, and the causal feel-goodness of Bejeweled. It's not a card game though, and it certainly doesn't feel like one when playing. In fact, you may just want to download the demo (
http://www.indiedb.com/games/didgery/downloads/didgery) to get an idea of how Didgery feels for yourself.
I tried to reach a little further than just the core casual puzzle demographic. I've always been a huge fan of atmosphere and story in games, so I tried to naturally incorporate both into Didgery. There is a hint of a storyline in the relaxed, take-your time, Zen Mode, but it fully unfolds in the stress-inducing, skill-bending Nightmare Mode. I plan to incorporate more RPG elements, as well as a multi-player battle mode in a future update.
I would like for Didgery to reach its audience, even if it turns out to be a niche one. If any of you know any outlets that would be interested in covering Didgery please shoot me a PM or reply to this thread.
You can find Didgery's website here (
http://www.dream-forever.net/Games/Didgery/), but note I pretty much suck at HTML, so the website is somewhat on the poorly designed side. I hope to gradually improve it over time though. Any design suggestions on how to improve the thing are more than welcome.
If you think you may like Didgery, or know someone who may, please consider pre-ordering Didgery on Desura (

Thanks!
