Pretty interesting talk, I have enjoyed his talks the last two years I have seen them. I think his pretentious and well researched take on games its important for the medium's development.

also check out the Gamasutra take on it:

they mis paraphrase him at one point though, he said that the delivery is important, and a good comic can get laughs with "the exact same" jokes as the bad comic, I think the Gamasutra version muddies the point.

I have to agree, Johnathan Blow is a great speaker. I have enjoyed what he's had to say for awhile now... as for Gamasutra, can you really be surprised?  Gentleman

They got that part: "As every comedian knows, timing is everything. A bad comedian can get booed off the stage, while a good one can receive a standing ovation for an identical set of jokes -- simply due to their method of delivery."

... seems pretty clear to me, anyway.

Anyway, I do enjoy Jon Blow's lectures.  They're always fun (... or should I put that in air quotes?) to think about Smiley
