Good evening fine gentlemen  Gentleman I decided to jump on the bandwagon with a mockup I'd just made.

(please zoom 2x)

It will possibly be an exploration platformer or just a regular linear one.

animations:

Since I have no idea what else it will be about, please, stay tuned.

Looks nice so far. Though I'd prefer a smoother walk cycle.

This seems like it could be neat. This style of environment is very appealing to me.

The weird outlining on the character really stands out stylistically.

That's about 3x109 times better than the original walk cycle, medieval Grin

I have fleshed out the story and stuff a little.

The world has lost all of its colour, and only the protagonist, or "the chosen one" has been able to hold his colour. It is his task to return colour to the world.

The game starts in plain grayscale and almost no details. There are multiple "worlds" to explore, and in each world you must return colour. You do this by collecting pigments [i have not thought of how]. With every colour, the world gains a little colour. For example, if you collect a blue pigment, the sky will get a little bit of colour. All the scenery objects and details will be as white silhouettes because they don't have any colour yet.

Technically, if they don't have any colour they should be black, but let's not fuzz about the details Gentleman

Grey is no colour, it's a shade, so that's fine.

Really like where this is going looks wise. The run has a bit of a limp tho.

Ptoing to the rescue! He watches the forums, day and night, to help those confused about colours and shades.

Also, great to see you working on a game, Yama (nee Medieval)! Sounds like a nifty idea, too. I'm-a keeping a watch on this. Yay.

I've been working on this, and I can prove!

I figured that I could add in shades as long as I left enough whitespace!

What's this? An enemy! A ghost with two heads!

And, well..

Tis one awesome worm, or snake, or crawling head.

That pigment idea sounds boss. I can already imagine collecting all the greens and watching as green fills in while every other color is a washed out shade.
Hope it is an exploration platformer. Seems like you've already decided it to be that.

nice. Cool

Thanks guys, all these comments make me go  Tears of Joy

Actually I'm doubting the means of programming. I could use Game Maker like I normally do. Or I could start learning Python and do this with it.

Or I could brainwash someone to do it all for me.

But it's probably Game Maker.

Hey I really like the simplicity. If you want my opinion def go with the explorational platformer over linear style.
