A small team means each member contributes to large sections of a project. A lack of over-specialisation allows developers to explore their individual interests.
Vitei works closely with Nintendo Co., Ltd. to produce games such as Steel Diver, which we produced in close co-ordination with Shigeru Miyamoto, Tadashi Sugiyama and Takaya Imamura.
We work hard to avoid crunching hard. At Vitei we have a policy of doing all that we can to maintain the two-day weekend, throughout development.
The ideal candidate should:
- know C/C++/C#/Objective C
- want to work on console platforms
- have a portfolio or demonstrable projects
- be interested in Nintendo
- be interested in Japanese culture and language
- be interested in video games
- be able to work in a team
- have basic math skills
- willing to commit to a project
Additionally:
- Knows something else like Ruby or Python or Lua or Haskell is a bonus
- Interest or proficiency in Japanese language a plus
- Japanese residency a plus
