can i just say i actually dislike the UI changes visually

things look so garish and disorganized now. the ship radar is distracting and the scanner readings are a lot harder to read than previously. more LIES from the rat-bastard jean merry!

btw this game is widely hated but its actually pretty ok. redditors and steam reviewers should be sued for false advertising imo.

Are you trolling or, ? This game is one of the worst big budget game I've ever played, the entire core gameplay was boring and repetitive with absolutely no pay-off. Maybe I would have given it a pass if it was more visually interesting, but the worlds felt muddy and homogeneous to me.

Well they only did a shout out at events, they do this for all indie, just like nintendo do with "nindies" and they had the ball rolling since that VGA reveal on their own without sony.

Sean Murray was on Colbert dude.

They got way more hype and marketing than any other big  publisher "indie" game I can think of (minecraft doesn't count). It was priced at 60 Euros, which is AAA pricing tier. The anger comes largely from people assuming it's a AAA blockbuster when it clearly isn't. Some people even thought it was going to be some kind of MMO. The hype train went completely out of control with this game.

I knew what to expect ofc bc i assume by default that any "awesome" feature is going to be overhyped, ESPECIALLY if the developer is being coy about it.

Got it when it was released and well it was underwhelming.
Started to play again a few weeks ago because of the new story update and I have to say, it looks a lot better now. Still not sure how much has changed, but at least I have more fun now.

Didn't help that the front page of PSN when you fired up your ps4 FRONT PAGE advertised it as an awesome space combat mmo for a while before launch.  On steam they removed all the space and atmospheric fighter combat videos they were advertising it a few days after launch, that was probably the biggest blunder and what angered people the most (myself included), the videos they sold the game on didn't show things that were actually in the game, they were all renders of stuff they WANTED to be in  the game but wasn't ready for the final cut.

This. you can't defend a game saying it was a small indie team when they price their product on equal with AAA hits.

With big publishers like Sony the devs don't really get to decide the price. If Sony says its a $60 title then it'll be priced at $60.
