quoting cause paged

DID U KNOW: Argonaut was one of two British companies contracted by Nintendo in the early 90s (the other was Rare obv). At the time the British game industry was at the forefront of 3D tech and Nintendo was looking to experiment with 3D.

The game that later became Starfox was originally meant to be a sequel to Starglider. Argonaut basically persuaded Nintendo to let them design the Super FX chip for better polygonal graphics. Miyamoto told them to make the game on rails rather than free roaming and add cartoon animals to it.

The convince nintendo by hacking the gameboy and having their logo fall down at the beginning rather than "nintendo"

They also made this before starfox

Quote
But CIG decided not to complete the single-player first and add the massively-multiplayer components in later; instead it’s building both at the same time.

As well as working on both Squadron 42 (the proposed single-player mode) and the expansive persistent universe in tandem, CIG is also continuing to support all of the different modules that it’s released so far with bug fixes and new features. (You can read about each of Star Citizen’s released modules in greater depth on the game’s site, but they are are essentially demonstrations of some of Star Citizen’s key features: the Arena Commander module, for instance is a multiplayer mini-game that shows off Star Citizen’s dogfighting.)

im reading this wondering how anyone could ever think this was a good idea.

There is a pattern in sharing the video
- Star glider is because it was cited as inspiration of no man sky and have the seamless space to surface gameplay.
- elite 2 is because it has the procedural universe with trading, fighting, starpost and landing on planet
- star control 2 have literally the same gameplay loop with extra story progression, but in 2d
etc ...

They either trace a legacy or extend what no man sky did but in bette direction, or both (based star control 2)

So since you bring the subject how does tetrastar contribute :D
In which way it's close to no man sky? (or a sub discussion from a game close to it?)

I linked Tetrastar because of the X video you linked; I like early 3d perspective gimmicks

Star Cruiser.

Also on a bunch of computers but I thought that Mega Drive footage would be more impressive considering the hardware. ff to 8:40 for space battle.

I replayed the original Starfox last year btw. It is still extremely playable, despite low framerate and dated visuals. I was surprised at how well the game has aged actually.

afaik the "worst" that can happen is that they would have to remove some videos and screenshots from the steam page and replace them with new ones.

which, you know, is fair enough, considering all of those materials are from alpha demos rather than the actual game you're buying.

Good luck proving that in an infinite procedural generator, where I have actually seen SIMILAR stuff in the game, almost in scope too. Even the presentation, if you actually deconstruct it is in the game. As in the massive space battle are entirely static and have only one type of big ship except for that lone sentinel that warp in the middle of the battle just like the final game ...

So the main goal of the game was to go to the center of the galaxy, the thing is once you get the atlas pass v3, you can access to a room with a map of a red solar system, people have figure out that each beacon is actually the position of the solar system and is like (in hex code) BeaconID:Xcoord:Ycoord:Zcoord:Solarindex, with solar index being an index of the solar system within a the xyz block coordinate (which can have up to 512 index, some of which will became solar system and other will remain empty.

Turns out that at coordinate 0000:0000:0000 is teh famous red solar system, which can also be seen on the texture of monolith, it has a very specific pattern of planet and moon (3 planets 3 moons, 1 planet with one moon, one planet with 2 moon, one planet with zero moon). Using the coordinate system they also found that there is way less that 18 quintillions plant in the game even with the 256 galaxy count, however code mining found the source code have the word timeward associated with the code of monolith to which we still don't know how to open the portal.

Code, associated with race dictionaries, also show there is 6 races in the game with mean there is 2 left (aside from vy'keen, gek, korvax and atlas) we don't know anything about (though we found another set of texture for cat(?) like race).

people are now wondering if the observatories puzzles are arbitrary or are pat of a bigger puzzle.
