I don't really see the resemblance at all though.
Out There is a hard-as-balls resource management with random encounters and sweet writing like FTL.
And NMS is... yeah I don't see it at all

Geoff Keighley premiered his new show yesterday, LIVE with YouTube Gaming. In the final minutes of the show he discussed No Man's Sky, which got its world premiere on Geoff's other show, VGX 2014. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7i1y....be&t=1h47m45sSome interesting revelations here, definitely worth a watch. A few of them: -Geoff was worried that the big premiere put a huge weight on the team's shoulders, something they could never really escape from. -Sean Murray didn't want Geoff near the team anymore earlier this year as he thought Geoff was too "negative." Geoff didn't agree with them early on with the decision to price it at $60 and box it for retail, among other things. -Geoff finds that the game overall was disappointing, in large part because Sean essentially refused to communicate openly to fans. Compares him directly to Peter Molyneux (not quite in the way you'd think). -Sean is "open" to the idea of appearing on the show later in October to discuss the game, which would be his first appearance (and in fact his first statement since he went silent in August) since the game launched. Pretty crazy, especially since it seems that Geoff saw the train derailing a bit early on before the game's release. Really great segment that is absolutely worth watching.

lol i said the same thing much earlier in this thread. it's "the kickstarter effect" but without kickstarter. once people start imagining their dream game based on a trailer or pitch, the actual product is never going to live up to that expectation. i went into NMS knowing this and hence didn't feel "betrayed".
