Hi there,

I'm the developer of Dreadhalls, a horror game exclusive for the Oculus Rift. I'm turning the game into a full commercial version and I'm in need of environment art.

About the Game:

Dreadhalls is a scary dungeon crawler with procedurally generated levels. You wake up in a scarcely lit dungeon, and you need to explore it in search of its exit, while avoiding the creatures that dwell in it. Your only weapons are stealth, your own courage, and a faint light that you'll have to keep fed with oil, lest you want the darkness to engulf you.

The game was originally developed for the VRJam contest, where it received an honorable mention. You can learn more about it, see videos, etc... at:

What I need:

I need to replace the placeholder art with higher quality models and textures, as well as adding more visual content (different map styles, etc...). I'm looking for a realistic, medieval architectural style.

The maps are procedural, so that means the walls, floors and ceilings need to come as modular pieces that can tile and fit with each other. See example below of a placeholder "tileset" belonging to a simple wall style:

I'd need you to create several such tilesets with variations and in different styles. Each piece would require diffuse, normal, and specular maps.  When the basic map layout (walls, etc..) is done, I'd also need models for objects (props, furniture, etc...) to decorate the levels with.

Also, since this game is for the Oculus Rift and needs to be rendered in stereo, low poly count is a must.

Requirements and Compensation:

I'm looking for someone with a professional work ethic that can create quality art within the constraints I mentioned before, and is willing to take a proactive role by helping me with the art direction and workflow.

I'm willing to pay per work / model, and/or royalties when the game launches.
