Working on a SHMUP style battle for the second half of the Dragon fight.
I got charge shots and missiles working today. Everything is smoothed out too. Cloud BG is still temporary.

Really nice art and interesting-looking game! There's some weird bits about the perspective in the ground in this pic (seems like the ground to the right that's higher somehow shares the far facing plane of the ground below and to its left), and the orange tree leaves in the first pic, but everything really looks cool!

Haven't really updated in a while, I've been pretty busy elsewhere and I haven't really made anything worth posting. Quite a lot of non-visual progress if you ask me.

I'm adding Synthesis to the game, and the materials are displayed below the regular items.



The tool you use to get these materials off of enemies is here.



In this image, I have the item you will receive visible on the enemy for testing purposes.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about that, but now that you bring it up I can certainly see it!
Looks really cool.  What are those colored boxes at the top center for?
Those are which charge attack is currently selected. Those are placeholders, I should really get around to changing them soon.

I feel like "Jump" and "Shoot" should be their button inputs instead of the actions.
Seems weird since the two actions are unrelated to menu or crafting.

Wrapping up a small area with new NPCs. Beginning work on new area now.
I need to figure out how to make satisfying rain and thunder on Game Maker. Most of the examples I look at are okay, but seem stiff and unnatural.

Finished a small boss today. He’s a security robot that attacks the player inside a warehouse full of explosives. He attacks using 3 different spins and 2 different kinds of shots. Sorry if the quality is a little weird, but I think it's alright. He was a bit stronger than this but I've toned him down.

Added Dashing!



You hold the dash button to dash. Doing so will increase your movement speed by about half of what it normally is. You slide a little if you change directions as well.
