Everything is coming along nicely!
Recorded a quick play through of Sector 2-2.

I could have beat that a day earlier if I had planned ahead a bit more... Cry

Looking good! Not entirely sold on the movement "grid" though, I think it hides too much of the terrain.

Thanks guys, we're getting excited about being... close to done.

I might space these out a bit more. I'll play with it.

This looks so amazing and I'm a big Advance Wars fan. Just bummed out that it's going to be iOS only. Is there any chance of an Android port if the iOS release goes well? Sorry to be that guy. Wink

For sure! But we'd have to dive into Unity, never messed with the stuff.

The only thing that I'm missing a bit are the actual battle animations - Are you guys planning on still implementing that? They're the kinda things you turn off after some time cause you're getting sick of it, but it's still super fun to watch it the first few times Smiley

Oh and yeah, the grid is really obnoxiously ugly to look at compared to everything else - it just renders over all the art, maybe try to lower the opacity or come up with something that doesn't look quite as messy.

Like you said battle animations are cool for the first 10 min, then everyone turns them off. I decided to animate the attacks on the map because I don't think it's worth the time to develop a feature that everyone thinks is cute but a waste of time.

I'm trying out some things with the grid, hopefully can reach a good middle ground. I like the texture it adds, but I don't want it to look too busy.

Hi,

This video tease me to play Warbits !

I'm agree with you, Reilly. The "little" attack animations on the map are really nice and sufficient.

But as thomasmahler said, the grid is a bit "too much", especially for units with lots of moves (dropship, carrier). Can you draw the pattern under the sprites ? Or maybe animate the alpha channel (slow blink) ?

I made some little changes to the dots and I think they're a lot better now.

Well this is looking nicely polished. Love the startup sequence.

I'll have more thoughts later, you want them in here?

Ah, I see you've got a Slack channel, but I didn't get an invite. (I joined a few weeks ago for work, it just gets spammed with giphy stuff).

Anyway, no worries and I'm really enjoying your game, thanks for the invite.
