Thanks guys, means a lot! I'm really glad most of you seem to dig the UI. I absolutely hate clutter so I try to simplify as much as possible. Some people have asked how we were doing the lighting so I figured I'd expand on that a bit. I made these low opacity gradients for each screen size and set the blend mode to {GL_ONE, GL_ONE} which is very similar to Photoshop's color dodge. The rays of light are set up with the same blend mode, but they fade in/out and wander around the top left of the screen. No filter This is with the gradient overlay, but as you can see the assets get a little washed out. Which can be fixed with a simple level change. I just went through and bumped the shadows up to 25. Here is the image with the rays added in.

Working on some doodles to setup the story. The phone looks pretty cool, but care to explain a bit? I'm not understanding what it has to do with the story.

Haha, that would make sense, we haven't shared any of the story yet. The gist is that Warbits is a war simulator housed in a physical cartridge that you install in your phone. This allows the different factions to duke it out virtually instead of actually destroying each other. With that said, we now have a trailer and website!!! http://riskylab.com/warbits/

Very nice trailer! Love the music and stylishness at the start! You rounded up some press with that? At the very least send it to these guys: http://www.pockettactics.com/

Checked out your slick website. I really like the style and backdrop you have going here. Its cool how you approached this from a humorous, "non-violent" manner!
If I may ask, how are you guys going about balancing this game? I can imagine its a bit tricky.

Peace and tranquility through death and destruction! It makes perfect sense! If I may ask, how are you guys going about balancing this game? I can imagine its a bit tricky.
A lot of playtesting and feedback, we've got about 10-15 alpha testers right now. I'd like to track global per unit stats eventually.

Android sux, O'Doyle rules! j/k, The real reason is that we're just two guys with limited resources trying to manage the project in a familiar environment. Also 2 years ago, cross platform engines weren't at the point they are today. If we could have started in Unity 2D we would have. The game's design is modular enough that it wouldn't be too much of a pain to work with all the Android screens. Who knows what the future holds! And because I don't like coming into this thread empty handed. I've been tinkering with our campaign layout. I'm not completely satisfied with this, but I think I'm getting close.

Thanks, atmos. Photon, we're trying! I'm currently getting the new main menu UI all squared away so we can get it in game.

Been workin' on a million UI/UX things so I'll just share a few. Needed a way to quickly remove games from the main menu. Pretty much the same way iOS 7 deletes SMS messages. Finally have a decent design for the end game. Pretty happy with this at the moment. Finalized how we'll organize our single player campaign. In other news we finally have a decent roadmap to finish this sucker! LOTS to do but we're excited to do it!
