Hi guys, I'm pretty new to pixel art and made this little thing today that I was hoping could be critiqued. I was going for a Gameboy style 4 color pixelated title screen sort of image.

I was planning on adding a sleeping cat that thought bubble was coming from but I'm struggling to get it started.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Your biggest problem was format, save it as PNG, JPEG destroys the image.

I tried to animate it and this happened.

I used graphicsgale to make this gif. If anyone knows why this happened could you please tell me. Also how does the animation of the bubble look?
Thanks again!

in your timeline, find the frame that is showing the green flash, hit the triple dot icon, check transparency, move the eyedropper over the background.

edit: oh wait you want it the otherway around, just make sure transparency is checked off on the other frames.

The cloud also looks pretty spiky and rigid.
It's pretty good for a new artist!  Hand Thumbs Up Left

Ok, I just did a little edit to round out your cloud -

I just went over your edges with a 'curved line tool'. Easy-peasy. Hand Thumbs Up Right
