Samwise needs a lightbulb!

We have been busy preparing Leivity for the Green Mountain Games Festival this weekend! (http://greenmountaingamesfestival.com/)
We will be showing off a small playable demo on Saturday, so if you are in the Vermont area come down!

Summer Kickoff!
It's been awhile since we've had time to work on Levity, but now that it's summer, we'll be developing once again! Stay tuned for more!
For now, here's Echo about to open a can of whoop-ass

Glad to see you're still working on this. I was worried for a second that you guys had stopped. I'm excited; best of luck, Matt.

The Lighthouse
Luke finds himself at the bottom of a huge green lighthouse, and makes his way to the top, learning how to play the game along the way
Here are a couple unfinished rooms of the sequence!

New Light movement!

I made a lot of changes to make it feel more like you were swimming through water.
You can read more about the process here! http://www.levitygame.com/uncategorized/new-light/

Shadows?
Even when we don't want the lighting of a room to affect Luke's movement, we want it to give the room depth and mood.  As you can tell in this example, the left room looks flat and boring.  But with the addition of a dark alpha gradient, the ladder sits in a beam of light, giving it the feel of a heavenly ascension of sorts.  In addition, a subtle drop shadow has been added to make it pop.  I will continue to experiment with subtle lighting in all of the lighthouse rooms, seeing what the best option is.

My book! AUGH!

This intro animation serves as a way to establish Luke’s personality right off the bat, and transitions smoothly into gameplay
Luke sure is clumsy!

Item to world interaction is a big part of Levity's puzzle system.
We will be using a variety of generic interact animations to further ground Luke in the world. Everything is so tangible!

The above gif demonstrates item swapping. When holding an item that can replace an item held in an interact spot, pressing the interact key will swap the items.
