I forgive you. cave story was my "first indie game," but you don't need to play it.

@Anty - But note that Cave Story is a good example of pretty much everything about game design, in my opinion. The combat feels solid and not cheap, the story and characters were well-written and interesting, the environments unique and different, etc. It's not perfect or anything, but it's a solid 7.5-8.5/10, I'd reckon.

EDIT: The short of it is, I thought it was fun too.

Not sure what my "first" indie game was. Maybe Lyle in Cube Sector? Or that black-and-white GM "Hero" game...? Castle of Elite? I remember a GM game that had characters based off of Megaman sprites and "Door Into Summer" from Knuckles' Chaotix as the first level's BGM...

But on-topic, congrats on the RPS mention! o/

Jake's a young boy with no magic talent whatsoever.
Though, that ain't stopping him from rampaging through the battlefields. How is he capable of going on par with the most powerful wizards from all dimensions - you might ask.
Well, he is soul-bound with his bird companion, and it so turns out that the bird happens to be an ancient Pheonix, one of a kind.

Q - Fireball

W - Fire Wall - spawns fire walls on both sides of **Jake**. Each of them 's got 4 HP. Each time an enemy walks into one of them it gets damaged and pushed back a little, wall loses 1 HP on every contact.

E - Flame Rush

R - Annihilation Dance - (channeling) Jake dances and every second of his dance a meteor drops from the sky damaging enemies in AoE. + SCREEN SHAKES

Jake seems very strong with his high mobility and full screen AOE.

granted his meteors are dropping in random directions so it's not that reliable
