RIT's Game Dev Club had another rapid game development day today- the goal is to make a game in six hours. I'm really happy with how my project turned out. Plus I finally got a chance to use my cool trench-coat-guy sprite from my unfinished CPB entry. The working title is 'I am Telekinetic', and it's a platformer with an unusual mechanic. You move with WASD, and can fire psychic energy with the left mouse button. When you click a second time, the energy is drawn back to you, attacking enemies in the way, and sending you recoiling backwards. It's difficult to explain exactly how it works. Just try it out. I'm interested in hearing your feedback, since I'm planning on turning this into a complete game. Download

There's no real ending right now. I didn't have enough time.

I really enjoyed this. Nice mechanics. Are you planning to put finishing touches to it?

Yes. In fact, I plan on making it into a complete game during Christmas break. Among other things, I plan on giving the game large, scrolling levels, and a more consistent graphical style. soooooo.... you're not really telekinetic?
How can you be so sure?

That guy looks pretty sketchy (I'm sure most people with telekinetic powers are). I'll have to try this out.

This is great, I love the little noir dude you play as. At first I was really confused, but when I got the hang of how to navigate and kill things easily, it was amazing. The gameplay is really distinctive.

There aren't any hard and fast rules (it's not a contest). One group actually used the time to work on a long-term project. This is great, I love the little noir dude you play as. Glad you liked it. I wanted to make a game with a really unique mechanic, and this time, I think it actually turned out to be quite fun.

An amazing and challenging game, especially being done in 6hours.

I found the innovation in this to be quite refreshing. Though it was a small game, there were little gameplay nuances that made this unique. The kickback from the energy blast took a bit to get used to, though I feel as though it represented one of those nuances.
I look forward to seeing the full version (and making the music for it!).

I reuploaded it to host-a.net, so you can download it again.

The gameplay mechanic's pretty nifty. And it looks good. Personally, I'd love to see more of that city. It's very cool. I'm unsure why exactly, but I like it. Anyhoo, hopw the gmae's coming along well.

Fun little game with an interesting mechanic. I got stuck on the room after the "donkey kong"-style one where the enemies work their way down the screen.

That's actually the last room. The difficulty's a little over the top there. When I expand this, the difficulty curve will be a little smoother.
