What it is

We're working on a game called Gravitanks. It's a 2.5D dual stick shooter with a gravity based twist. Players drive massive tanks around planets or fly through space firing projectiles and other weapons. Projectiles are strongly affected by the gravity field of the planets. This can be used to the player’s advantage to fire from cover and arc shots into foes. Up to 4 players can compete in deathmatches, and from 1 to 4 players can fight against the hordes cooperatively in survival mode.

It looks something like this:

We're using Unity and targeting PC, Mac, Linux, and OUYA. Currently we have test builds for you to try for:

Windows (Xbox 360 or compatible gamepad only)


These are pre-alpha, so bugs are to be expected.

Feedback we're looking for

  • Overall look
  • Deathmatch gameplay
  • Control scheme

Release notes

  • This demo includes deathmatch (you vs friends) and survival mode (you or you and your friends vs aliens.)
  • Controls are in the included image file. Instructions for each mode are presented at the mode selection screen.
  • Your jets use shield power, so you're more vulnerable when you're actively flying.
  • The edges of the play area are marked with red laser beams. Try to fly outside these and you'll die!
  • Blue arrows point to health or slowmo powerups
  • Red arrows point to primary and secondary weapons. Red boxes are primary (Shells, HE Shells, Gravity Reverse Shells, Sticky Bombs) and green boxes are secondary (MG, laser, rail gun)

It is still gamepad only. We do plan to bring keyboard and mouse back soon. The next two weeks are really busy for me but I'll make it a priority after that.
