The new version 0.22 is out now on itch.io

It has both local multiplayer and single player modes. It has the shiny new graphics that I posted above Smiley

Been quite busy with the game recently. We made new trailer, took it to the PC Gamer Weekender and launched it on Steam Greenlight at the same time. Glad to say we passed Greenlight in one week! We're a team of three with no publisher/investor support so that felt like a great result for us, much quicker than expected. We’re now planning our next steps so we can get BFF or Die closer to full release.

In the meanwhile you can download the latest version 0.22.4 which has some bug fixes. If you played on Windows recently with more than one control pad and had some weird control issues where the triggers on one pad affected the other, they should now be fixed.

We’ve also now included separate 32bit and 64bit versions for Windows. The Linux and Mac versions are universal builds meaning both 32bit and 64bit versions are included in the same download and your computer auto-selects the correct one when you run the game.

From today BFF or Die is being featured on the Square Enix Collective for 30 days. During this time peeps can leave feedback and also vote yes or no to the question “Would you back this project through crowdfunding?“

This doesn’t mean Square Enix are publishing BFF or Die but it’s great opportunity to have more gamers know about the game. It will also help us in the Kickstarter campaign we are planning for later this year. It’s all well and good making a fun and original game, but if nobody knows about it, the campaign will never take off…!

Please do take a look at our page there, leave some positive feedback and votes ‘yes’ Smiley Also tell ya mates to do the same! Depending on the response games get there, Square Enix sometimes help out with promotion when the time comes for the Kickstarter campaign in the summer.

We're planning a kickstarter campaign for BFF or Die in the summer . This will help us to finish the game and add big features like online multiplayer. We've been discussing what kind of rewards would be cool to add so the people who back us can get something really good. We've decided to get mini figures made of our characters. We're still finding out all the options, whether we will 3d print or go the more traditional route. The image is a work-in-progress look at the first figure. The final version is likely to be different but this gives you an idea of what is to come.

For more details on upcoming features in the game you can head over to our page on the Square Enix Collective. Voting is open for two more weeks so make sure you vote 'yes' for us Smiley

Had a string of good news lately Smiley

After nearly 2.5 years of development we are levelling up..! We launched on Kickstarter so we can move towards finishing and releasing with all the content the game needs. Things are going well so far. Kickstarter made it a "Project We Love" and we have over 100 backers already Smiley

Throughout development we've watched around 800 people play the various versions of the demo. The feedback we received has shaped the game and this is how the multiplayer mode has become a very social experience. People really get into the co-op teamwork aspect and love winning together. We'll continue to watch reactions and listen to feedback and will get our backers involved as much as possible.

Join this journey with us and help us to fully bring BFF or Die to life by making a pledge on our Kickstarter page Smiley

We have a variety of nice rewards for people who back us. The cutest one is... 3D printed mini-figures of the characters! The first prototype is below. It came out really nice and has a 'real' feeling to it as it's made of sandstone. We'll also be designing and printing three new characters. You can also get early access to the online multiplayer mode, some special character skins, VIP tickets to the launch party and even get directly involved in the creative process by helping us to name a character or design a level. Of course, you can also reserve a copy of the game Smiley

We have just over two weeks left on the Kickstarter for BFF or Die. Please head over there, have a look and see which rewards sound good to you.

For any Londoners, I'll be showing the game at Gamer Disco this Wednesday 17th August. Come down if you can. It's free entry too.

New LetsPlays of on Youtube are starting to appear. This one is nice, it's a couple using their teamwork skills to the max and getting pretty far..!

So it's the last day on Kickstarter. If you'd like to help keep the project alive, head on over to the KS page, join in and make a pledge.

It's been a while since I posted here. Ok, well, years. In that time we've been steadily working on BFF or Die. We had a couple of art revisions, refactored the code base and so far have seen about 2000 people playtest at public gaming events, iterating as we went along based on their reactions and feedback.

We hit a nice milestone today. The public Steam preview page is now up!

You can now add it to your Steam wishlist. If either couch co-op or single player puzzlin' sounds like your kind of thing then add it to your wishlist Smiley

Should be out sometime this year "when it's ready".
