Would icons make it easier to browse this forum? What categories would be the most useful?

Maybe:

- Company (Management)
- Funding
- Selling
- Marketing
- Legal

Yeah I think this would be really useful for when looking through for specific subjects. Maybe include one for postmortems too?

- Finance: selling/funding, bank loans, share market
- Market: research, statistics, publishing, marketing, ads, social media
- Process: people management, management, best practices, team building, self-help...
- Legal (though it can be part of anything else)
- News/gossip: business facts/info, who bought who, and so on
- Postmortems, past experiences and nostalgia

For me, the most important is that these do not overlapp (it makes searching so annoying when one person tagged it Selling while other tagged it Marketing, yet both meant the same thing), the categories should be very distinctive (and possibly we could include more than one tag in one category).

The icons are up. I don't know why they appear at the bottom of the message icon list - it's also not updating the descriptions, so maybe there's just lag. I've added them to the first few posts so you can see what they look like. Thought the Zelda icons would be fun.

I thought about it, but judging by the topics I'm seeing people post, marketing and selling seem like they should be separate. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe let's start by redesigning the icons (why a black rectangle bacground while the forum is light colours? and why pixelart if the rest of the forum is in a "normal" style? these completely don't fit...)

I say, try to match the style from the icons in the DevLogs.

Maybe have a moderator add them to posts until people are used to seeing them more often. Then they become second nature... Or make them clearer in the posting for this section? people are creatures of habit. once they're used to somthing they will use it.

OK, I can't bear to look at these any longer :D

Can we please replace them with something like these (smaller, rounder, colour coded so instantly you can see what the topic is about)?




Also, personally I feel we could get rid of company and replace it with news (since anything about company is news or some other category already)

i preferred the old icons, but i may be in a minority cuz a lot of forum members weren't even born yet when zelda1 came out or something
