Perhaps someone should make a new thread about this since the first post can't be updated anymore. (I'd make one myself, but my visits to the forum can be pretty sporadic at times, so someone more active would probably be better.)
Also, Ludum Dare #15 will be from August 28-30.

Might it be interesting to also include showcases, such as Sense of Wonder Night?
I think it's cool to show people how many opportunities there are for showing off your game, or getting feedback really. It's a great motivator if you have a list where you could enter your game.

Wow. Indie Game Challenge requires you to cough up $100 for the privilege of coding and pleading with them via video for your game. Also, as an homage to the stone age - before Internet downloads - you must provide multiple discs for their consumption.
I like the can-afford-to-pay-rent-and-groceries challenge better.

http://theindiebay.com/competition/A new site running a 48 hour competition that seems to be fairly low on numbers at the moment, we should get some more TIGS people onto it. Starts on the 19th of September, you can use any engine. Honestly, I have no idea if this is even going ahead, but it can't hurt to try I guess, and it would be nice to finish a game for once

Im not sure if I'm allowed to post here but I will anyway. Gamebuilder, a small community site www.gamebuilder.info is hosting a small Halloween Competition. The theme is "Happy Halloween" so, basically Halloween games that are somewhat happy. They can include gore and deaths, but the deaths must be happy...somehow. 1st prize is $150, which certainly isnt bad for a small Halloween game. If you guys have any spare time feel free to join and enter, the closing date is November 2nd 09.

I'm running a little competition over at the Scirra forums. The theme is DECAY. And no it's not necessarily about zombie games... So if you're a Construct user give it a look:
