Something I've been working on for my girlfriend's birthday.  There's a LOT I'm unhappy with about this painting, and I still need to do something with that horrible patch of dead space in the top right, but at the moment it seems like the more I try to fix it the worse it gets :/. Original artwork's ~300mm across. |

Thanks! It's a bit of a stylistic departure for me. I thought about the musical notation thing; I'll have to see if I can't scratch something over the top tonight before it goes to print tomorrow afternoon. Also your girlfriend's hot.

Nice megaman Quazi =] For that first image you could make the claw arm look like it's coming forward a lot more by changing the shadow that is currently falling on her leg, as I think that is what's making it look a little flat, in my opinion. Some more texture-y brush randomness from me.  I think there's a couple of Kinnas' in there...Cheers Dude  |

Wow, love those character designs, especially the crocodile. Updated version of pic from before- took advice on the color tones and tried to vary them, adding more contrast, working on fabric folds, and got rid of the wallpaper design (thought it might be too distracting).  How's it look now? |

Much much better!
You might have gone a bit too far with the stronger lines with her nose; the upper parts of it could be less visible. Also her(?) knee is rather sharp! Something that may be intentional are the rather visible brush streaks in their arms and quite much everywhere in the piece.

I would lighten the shadows on the face a little. The darkest parts of the face should generally be the line dividing the eyeball from the top eyelid, underneath the nose, and the corners of the mouth. Hope you don't mind, I just did a little edit to show you what I mean:  Indeed. That helps the face quite a bit. |
