Hi everyone! This is "No More Probes" ( Stuff )

"The year is 198X and Earth is under attack. The Invaders came through slipspace and attacked us without warning, decimating all our defenses within a day. Everybody is either captured or dead. Everybody but me.

I have been called a hobo, crazy war veteran, or just a nobody, but now I am all that stands between total defeat and hope for mankind.
With the help of my new friend, a small alien artifact, I will put to use my engineering knowledge, so I can build various defense gadgets from the junk I collect and fight back the aggressors. I will make them pay for what they did to me back in the day.

Days and nights will pass, and I will need all of my retro gaming skills to repel the invasion."

There is a random factor in the game when it comes to enemies, power-ups, obstacles and and other secret stuff

Hi oodavid,

Most of the main mechanics are implemented, but there are a lot of bugs and the game still lacks content. Also I plan to redesign the UI since it is not working as I hoped.

Thanks 16BitGenocide. Never heard of him or at least never knew the name, but I've just changed that.

Added some "step" effects for different terrains, wind dust and the tumbleweed

Hi all,

Here is my latest post with my updated UI. It's still work in progress, but it gets the idea across. I still need to add a lot of functionality and finish the art for it.



Also I have a candidate for the main title of the game, but I will come back to that later.

Here is the current state of the main menu. I am almost happy with how it turned out, but I am still not done with the animations for it. I guess, I will leave it like this for a while, so I can focus on other stuff.



Also I've created a new threat for the player which is activated if you spend too much time on a single wave: The Orbital Strike. I took some inspiration form the Akira's SOL 740 satellite.

InfiniteStateMachine: The character is controlled with W,S,A,D keys and the arrow keys are reserved for one of his creations.

I've managed to implement two new "obstacles" in the game. The first one is the "Spike Pit" which will subtract 1 point of your health if you walk over it and the "Failed Experiment" which will shoot on random occasion four bullets. They can harm you or your enemies.

Here is something fresh from today. I've added a new "Obstacle" - the Vending Machine. You can use it to trade:

Junk > Processors
Processors > Junk
Processors & Junk > Nothing ( theft )

The three states are shown on the machine's monitor, so you need to pay attention to what it displays at the moment.




Also here is a gif of some of the variations which "Obstacles" give. I want to create a lot of them, so you will never play a level the same way as before.
