I love that umbrella! I'm glad you included that because I got frustrated dying from what seemed like such a small height in the game. too bad it's not permanent, I mean by the fact you have to find it instead of it being in your inventory by default Cry (that was the inner noob in me talking)

have you considered making it 'break' after so many uses? Like this: http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/2400/ls016186.jpg Just throwing that idea out there. Even though each screen is so small unless the number of uses was incredibly low (2 or so) then it would be too useful and easy.

Puh... 18*18 grid, if you don't like the black lines they're gone with a single paintbucket click. I think the offset is OK.

JLJac, that imp-dog is absolutely adorable.  Kiss
Well thanks! Actually my original name was limp-dog, because of it having only three legs, but imp-dog is maybe even more fitting.

Hehe, awesome.  I also added a balloon last night.  It's pretty fun to float about! Wink

Hmm, that's not a bad idea.  I guess it'll have to be felt out, once it's used in some proper levels.  There are already ways to prevent the player from taking objects everywhere, so it might not be necessary.  Gotta see!

Perfect, thanks!  Imp-Dog is pretty good, I like it.  Not to be confused with Puzz-Dog. :D

PROGRESS UPDATE: Balloons, icy platforms, exploding dynamite, and breakable tiles.  Made objects and pickups interact with water.  Going to add a couple traps today, then work in the new animations from Xion.  The next build is almost done.  (But I haven't made any "real" levels, hrm.)

Real excited! Hopefully some maps can be made quickly to show off the new stuff. I don't think anyone is demanding full real levels yet. Test levels would be good enough to see if the new items work and to see their limitations/usefulness and more.

Yeah, leave something for the community to do, I'm sure there's some more than capable level designers out there.

Oh, there's plenty for the community to do, trust me. Tongue

I'll probably just include a few test maps in this update, yeah.

Been really struggling with mood swings the last few weeks.  I'm kind of forcing myself to get this update out.  But after it's out I hope to reorganize and restructure things around here, and hand off as much as possible to the community.

Well, I finished the update.  Got a bit sidetracked by some personal stuff.  Didn't have time to make any demo levels, and now I'm off to the ocean for the weekend.  But all the new stuff seems to work?  I suppose I'll release it Monday.

UPDATE!

Okay, so, I actually finished and uploaded this new version like five or six weeks ago, but didn't get around to posting about it.  (Sorry!)  Thank Derek for cracking the whip on this. Hand Metal Right

Anyway, you can download Milestone Two version 1.0.6 right here.

WHAT'S NEW:

- Ice Tiles (slippery)
- Spring Tiles (bouncy)
- Disappearing Tiles (disappeary)
- Left/Right Conveyor Belt Tiles (moves objects along)
- Red, Yellow, and Blue On/Off Toggle Tiles (toggled by switches and triggers)
- Weight Trigger Object (pressed down by objects)
- Platform Path Tiles (to set paths for moving platforms)
- Platform Object (lifts that move on a path)
- Shooter Object (shoots shots)
- Chest Object (for respawning pickups)
- Portal Object (like in Portal)
- Guy Can Pick Up & Throw Objects (with the action/item key)
- Locked Door Object (opened by a key pickup)
- Key Pickup (opens doors)
- Umbrella Pickup (slows descent)
- Balloon Pickup (allows Guy to float around)
- Dynamite Pickup (blows things up)
- Breakable Wall Tile (platforms that can be destroyed)
- Spike Trap Object (springs a moment after being stood upon)
- Falling Hazard Object (falls when Guy walks under)
- Magnet Item (pulls objects toward Guy)
- Blowdryer Item (blows objects away from Guy)
- Various Gameplay Tweaks
- Many New Script Functions
- Many Technical, Behind-the-Scenes Improvements
- A Bunch of New Sounds and Effects
- Probably Other Stuff

WHAT'S NOT IN THIS BUILD:

- There are no new levels
- The new stuff is all foundational, and will be improved

To see most of the new stuff, press F5 then 1 to load NewStuffTest01, my dev level.  It's a little crazy (and not a "real" level), but I recommend moving things around and trying everything out.

Wow, posting this wasn't as bad as I'd imagined! Embarrassed

WHAT'S NEXT:
- Get organized and start making the actual game!

*explodes*

...in pants

wait a second...

AUGH WHAT A HORRIBLE TIME FOR MY KEYBOARD TO HAVE A NON-FUNCTIONAL RIGHT CURSOR KEY.

On the other hand this might inspire me to make a level that you can play without using a right cursor key.

This is completely awesome!!!

But i'm having trouble getting the red platform to work. It just doesn't turn on when I hit the switch in my level. (it works perfect in the test level) Anyway, this is sweet... :D
