I tried Unearthed. It is already fun! I would change the look of the shadow a bit. I often didnt see if i am running against a wall or if thats shadow. Keep it up!

I'm enjoying the demo very much!  The WASD and arrow keys controls were my favorite after a quick try.  For some reason the auto aim reminds me of that gun with the replay button in the Fifth Element.
I totally agree. I iterated a lot till i got ti right but now it feels very natural and fluid. Havent tried 5th element yet.
I love the look of Kuiper 2 btw!

I did come across one problem in your game, it some times hangs on the mission where you meet the green blobs for the first time. Just as you see what look like some other pirates attacking it just hangs.

I'll make a video / gif and post it later.

You mean the greenish alien ship? This level is wip/trash. The demo is about the first level but i will fix it soon.Thanks a lot for your effort or let me know if you are talking about something else.

Detection system is in place!  Beer!

I added it to enemies and cameras.
Cameras and enemies with a radio will trigger a global alarm if the player stays long enough in the view of sight.



The global alarm triggers several events like spawning enemies.
The player can disable the global alarm through hacking special terminals.

Killing all enemies before is suggested!

My focus is shifting to the meta game again now nthat most of the features are in place.

So is was wondering...what you want to do as a pirate? Become rich and have a fantastic life? Wink
I am thinking about a fun way how to use the treasures that you find and combine themn with goals.

What if there is a checklist "How to become THE Space Pirate"?



I could still add side goals.

My question:
  • Would you prefer finding rare unique artifacts (hidden in the galaxy)
      or
  • becoming richer and richer (idea above) untill you are THE Space Pirate?
Please let me know!

Not sure yet about my last topic. I want to play the game a bit more to find out.
There for i am building a lot of levels.

How does a space pirate actually attack another ship?
Well...there is a nasty hook crashing the hull Wink

Looks great!
I would suggest changing the colour of the green banner to represent categories. For example, Alien Ships can be green, Planets can be orange, Space Police can be blue, etc Smiley

Good idea!

First i wanted to add an indication how tough an encounter is using red, orange and green. Didnt work out so well.
I think the ship or planet size will give you a hint about that. Will definitely try your idea.

Last week was intense. I added 5 locations (reworked Alien Ship, Space Bank, a ship with a new faction "ice" and some smaller huma ones) and a lot of features i wanted to have in place. The starmap is working better now and the game is starting to take shape.

I updated the demo with all content from the last months. Try it out if you haven't played yet.
Play Space Pirate Demo

Exporting an exe file for PC seems to work fine with an outstanding performance.
This will be the last bigger demo update before the Alpha.

What next:
I want to focus on the coin economy and the game goal.
Maybe start thinking about a skill system and weapon upgrades.

One Question:
Which hero would you prefer to play?



...or would you like to customize yourself?
I think that  "red hat gives you +1 defence"  is a bit much Wink

Fun game. It looks a lot like Realm of the Mad God.
Maybe let the player draw their own sprite characters?
Would be fun in co-op mode.

I keep coming back to play the demo!  The current character is great but maybe you could spice it up by combining a random head with a random body for each playthrough or something simple like that.

This time around I got stuck in an ice spaceship level.  The shuttle wouldn't leave after I raided the ship.  Keep it up, I look forward to the next version!
