Page turn... Hey, thanks! Time for a proper video update; if a picture speaks a thousand words, a video must speak more, right? This time showing off new moves, overall bug-fixing, polishing of animation, tightening of swimming mechanics, improved enemy AI and more! https://www.youtube.com/embed/7m9akj5vwsEPlus a screenshot! Looks great! I completed Banjo Kazooie four times, i guess (all puzzle tiles and notes).

I really like this. The Egyption level reminds me of Super Mario sunshine, even some of the movement!

It's really nice to hear people liking the clearer art direction! For the last couple of weeks I've been working on a newer level "Cajun Mob Bog". Set in a 1930's bayou, home to the mafia it sees our heroes venture around the swamp itself and even inside some of the mob's hangouts (including their Casino). The idea with this was to create something unique, and successfully try to mix two very distinct themes. So far I think it's turning out pretty nicely! Plus I also recently took part in a Q&A as part of "Made With Unity" http://madewith.unity.com/stories/blast-past

Was gonna say "don't forget the fireflies" but then I saw 'em.
Don't forget cheesy music then, like in The princess and the frog...
Looking great!

Please have a Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn Easter Egg. People would love it! I can't think of a Bayou without Tom Sawyer to coincide

It's lovely to read such positive comments! The last couple of weeks have gone into some further work on Cajun Mob Bog, but also some work hopping back into Middle Age Crisis. Our titular duo's moveset has had further tweaking including the addition of a flip animation for their second jump. This both helps them feel more fluid, but also allows some good player feedback with regard to whether you have jumped once or twice. This video should help explain this in further detailhttps://youtu.be/Ai4hQ0tRLVs As for Middle Age Crisis, I've changed the setting from night to early morning and have been working to create more interesting atmosphere. This includes things like a more detailed an fantastical skybox as well as roaming creatures (crows, flies, chickens etc). It's amazing how a few random elements can really help a level feel "alive"

Nice! The grass seems underwhelmingly low-res compared to everything else, tho. Looks a bit weird next to the detailed furry face of the character. :p

I'm absolutely stoked for a medieval style zone, yet I'd love to see some high-res grass textures. Overall, the thematic elements are for this zone are great!

Hey, sorry, this is completely OT but I got an idea for perhaps a reasonably simple subject for your YT channel: the twisted corridor in the forest temple in OoT. If you can figure out for certain how it works rather than just guessing (if the model is skewed and the camera rotates, or if its an image effect or w/e) . ;p

Duude. This looks so goddamn good. I used to play spyro year of the dragon a ton on my ps2 and this reminds me of that game immensely. I rarely ever say this, but im hyped for this game.

Thank you all for the kind words! I have taken the advice regarding the grass, the first screenshot below should address that issue! The comparison to Spyro is of course always welcome! The last couple of weeks have been spent refining and building upon Middle Age Crisis. The castle is now nearing completion, the outlying area is getting there and the world is more alive than ever! I've also been constantly tweaking the lighting, skybox etc to help sell that early morning vibe.

Yep, that's the monkey! The backpack is still visible on Clive's back. cant remember the name of the game it reminds me of.. but that video hit me right in the feeler.. the nostalgia feeler..
Are you thinking perhaps of Banjo-Kazooie? I haven't played it but the "tag-team" type gameplay reminds me of the spiritual successor Yooka-Laylee. It is done by some of the people that worked on Banjo-Kazooie and had a successful Kickstarter campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vivaThat game is supposed to be out in October, so there may some competition for Clive 'N' Wrench. The two seem to have very different settings so that should help distinguish the two games. Of course, people can play both as well! About the game: I just came across Clive 'N' Wrench and have to say I like the style update from past videos. I saw someone commenting on YouTube that the trees on bayou level could be more cartoony. I kinda agree but even the current version has a good feel to it.

I do hope that Yooka and Clive don't end up clashing, I think they're shaping up to be different enough to be enjoyable independently.
There's a chance that there'll be people mentioning the "similarities" (rip-off, etc). If that happens, just refer to the long line of such games.

I just hope they are happy to have two follow up from a lost genre rather that shredding them up
