I have currently 2 internet connecion, aDSL and cable (cable was intended to be suspended, but the ISP fuckers refuse to do so until we get to pay for a stupid service that malfunctioned for quite a long time). I would be interested to see the chance of using both services in the mean time, ideally my aDSL connection for torrenting and my cable modem for browsing.

I have heard stuff about load balance and such, but it seems they all involve more money that I'd be interested to invest (read, free) for something I'd just use until the cable providers get their modem back. Could it be possible to bridge the somehow in a simplistic manner? I only have a single network card (onboard).

Quick answer: No.
Longer Quick answer: Not with what you state as being available
Specific quick answer: Linux box with three network interfaces and iptables.

Long answer:

Short of specialist equipment, there is no simple solution. However, if you happen to have a suitable system lying around spare with three network interfaces, it is possible to fake such an arrangement. It may even be possible to do it properly, however I only know of people doing specific-connection-type balancing. It may also be possible to do this using a single system, however I'm not sure how much I would trust this, especially if you tried to do it via windows. Take the spare system and set it up with a tool similar to iptables, which will probably mean installing linux. Iptables lets you set up rules for network traffic, and using these rules you can route outgoing traffic via a specific network interface. This would let you, for example, direct all game networking communication over the ADSL, and all traffic on port 80 (HTTP) over the cable.
