Some good news is that the end is finally in sight.

Is it like the whole ship is visible, or just like the top of the mast peeking over the horizon?

Whole ship, bow to stern.

That's beyond exciting.
A extraordinary day in the history of indie gaming is approaching.

Yup, thanks Paddy Smiley

I have a few things I could post here but work on the game is still at full-on pace. That plus the mundane tasks of actually self-publishing a game will keep me busy right up through launch, so sit tight until after that for more dev posts.

Wow. Best of luck with the sprint ahead! Trailer is exciting, with the slow panoramas contrasted against the sound ... but "coming autumn 1818" (if I read that right) was perhaps a bit tongue-in-cheek Wink Anyway, as is customary to say in cases like these: A flock of ostriches cheers you ahead, extra die roll!

As always,

Just saw the newest trailer. I like the sound of the voice acting, and the visual improvements to the ship and it's crew are always nice to see. Though the release date of 1818 confuses me. Are you just saying 2018 in-universe, or...?

Congratz on the release date!  Coffee

How much time and effort does it take to implement a new language localization on the development side? Wanting to know if it'd be possible to offer my help to translate the game into Chinese. I'll send you an email at the media address.

This has been an educational dev log to follow, thanks for putting it together! After reading about your extensive dithering adventures I got inspired to try some shader tests with limited palette Smiley

Looking forward to playing the game tomorrow.

I checked in to see how the game was doing, and it was a very pleasant surprise to see it's releasing so soon! I had to create an account to say great work with the game (the demo is really good) and I'm very excited to play it!

First review of the game is out on Eurogamer. Apparently it's an essential title, which means it'd be something like a 9 or 10 out of 10 in a point-based system.

Congratulations, Lucas!

Hopefully it will be as much of a smash hit as Papers, please and lead to another batch of new ideas and corresponding Dev blogs. Smiley

Definitely not the end. I plan to post a bunch of stuff in here about the run up to and through release. Plan.

So now that it's released, I'd like to know about its content from the perspective of a parent. The Steam listing describes the content thus: "Passively depicts death and violence in freeze-frame 3D scenes." Obviously, being a murder mystery, there are dead bodies and scenes of violence, so I would imagine it's not appropriate for little kids. But how strong is it? Would it be appropriate for, say, a pre-teen, or does it get really grisly? Is there other content I should know about, such as strong language or nudity/sexual situations?
