This is awesome man!
I obviously like teleportation mechanics  Smiley (I made Out There Somewhere) I'm anxious to play this!

Thanks! I actually played through OTS yesterday, haha. Btw, I changed the title to avoid conflicts with another game that I came across online.

In case you hadn't figured it out, we are one and the same.
SUPER III was the orignal OTTO REPAIR prototype. It was revamped for #indiE3Jam and will be completed over the next 4-6 months (approx).

Actually it's the year the Super Nintendo came out and our games are inspired by the games from that era.

And... Yes... We were both born in 91 xD isn't it a happy coincidence?

I was wondering why the art style looked so similar to Frog Sord's, ahahah. Looks awesome, anyway (I love the one GIF with the semitransparent cloud layer scrolling), and the teleportation mechanic plus the screen wrap seems like it could have a lot of potential.

I am part of the original FROG SORD team. Zack and I have been working together for a while now. Hunter is a freelance artist for us atm.

anyway as long as i can post stuff now ive been messing with some actual fog rather than that layer of clouds and

im not sure whether i prefer having the darkest shade transparent or not
the first one makes everything more ~*mysterious*~ or w/e but the 2nd one increases visibility so idk

Are they important for the gameplay? Because they both kinda ruin the scene for me, which is very pretty otherwise (those colours!).

I like the first one. There won't be too much going on in World1 to distract you from anyway. Though it would probably help to see both fog layers in motion.

Looks great!
I know this is a dumb question, but I've been looking at the gifs and I'm wondering what happens if you attempt to teleport when there is no wall at your height.

As of now, nothing happens. That may or may not change. It's not obvious from the GIFs, but jumping again on mid-air is what causes the teleport.

I'm not a big fan of the fog. Seems unnecessary in space and occludes the pretty colors.

i should explain it a little more i guess - the first.. 1/3? 2/3? of the first world and the first world only were going to be covered in a fog that gets progressively lighter with every stage until it's completely gone

zack mentioned you were exploring planets that had been recently destroyed so i had just been going off the assumption that the fog was just dust leftover from the fact that this planet had

been recently destroyed

I think a group of asteroids in the background would also get that across. I just don't think covering the players sight just for atmosphere or story reasons is good design. I also have a fog at one point in my game SwapQuest, but there it also has gameplay functionality.

You act like it completely obstructs the players view. You can still see perfectly through the dust/fog. It doesn't mess with the "players sight" in the slightest unless maybe you're a dog.

Too often I think people get the whole constructive criticism stuff mixed up with the "what I woulda done is".
