Waaagh! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH SO CUTE!! Just got linked to this from your comment! The aesthetic is so adorable! I know stylistically it has nothing to do with The Little Prince, but I'm reminded of it via super tiny rotating planets.

Uh little 2d planets are hardly original. It's different implementation of gameplay that is something that can be handled very differently though.

Edmund Mcmillen's Aether(this game is wonderful), gravity ghost, dyson, God Finger ect, there are tons more.

I was wondering. Is there cases where the little planetoids yuo run on can get shattered into smaller pieces?
like say from a boss or by the player in some way.

And if oxygen is a thing to worry over. How do you tell where any is? Maybe some planetoids could have a slight "haze" or something that indicates an atmosphere?

The lack of atmosphere is an artistic direction thing, i don't want to obscure space when on the ground. We have instead a dotted outline which is only half implemented, which reveals the atmosphere.

Going to space is a hard state change the player activates, oxygen is only depleted in the space state. So far oxygen is just a method of preventing the player avoiding most of the level and going straight to the boss.

I'm open to better ideas though, as I'm not particularly happy with it as a mechanic.
