I've been playing a lot of Virtual Console since I got my Wii (I love the NES!!! lol) and it got me to thinking what everyone thought of as their favorite game on NES was....right now I am going to say Kid Icarus ,it has great gameplay, graphics and a very different setting from that of most games....I love it....anyways what games did everyone else dig from wayback?

I love the big adventure games, but there weren't that many on the NES. Faxanadu, Battle of Olympus and Wizards and Warriors III are probably my favourites. The early Final Fantasy games are cool too, but I didn't play them until much later.

I got you some screenshots! Smiley

Oh yeah, Destiny of an Emperor kept me busy for weeks, too. Awesome game, that!

Will it get me lynched if I say that I've never played any NES game enough to have a favourite? Embarrassed

No idea why. Then again, I've seen some weird attitudes on here already, so can't speak for anybody else Wink

Nah, a lot of people haven't...you can't blame 'em....some people were playing Master System back in the day, SNES, Genesis etc...so maybe the topic should be: "what is your favorite old school console game?" lol..

Now, if we're talking *8-bit* games in general, I'll whip out my old Atari 800XL list. But not right now, as I have to go to work. Sad

When I was a kid, I used to play legend of zelda from morning till night. Never beat it, though, got stuck when I couldn't find a certain castle/dungeon/whateveryouwanttocallit. Think it was the last one.

My favorite's gotta be Zelda, also.

I'm gonna nominate Blaster Master as another one:

I like it so much, I even started playing around with a (fake) remake. Tongue

Faxanadu

Dude, Faxanadu is a great game!  I love Death magic.  Back in college I played through this with my roommate and when we got to the boss we killed him in like under a second.  I don't even know what he looks like. Tongue

Holy shit that game is frustrating. Shocked

While this topic is going I just want to ask this as well: what is your favorite console of all time? Or your favorite currently?

Mine: SNES-then Wii-Now

First and foremost, the game that made me want to be a game designer in the first place:

I was mostly into action games otherwise.  Batman, Heavy Barrel, Journey to Silius, and Life Force were all favorites of mine growing up:

Sadly my front-loader broke a few months ago, and I haven't gotten around to replacing it (hopefully with a nice top-loader!!) so its been a relatively NES-less few months now.  Games I got for the WiiVC include Kirby's Adventure, Kid Icarus, Solomon's Key, and Elevator Action.
