That's really nice to hear So not much news yet outside of my plan from the year... ’ve been rather quiet about what’s going on with Jack B. Nimble, but real life, work and game jams have slowed my progress somewhat. I’ll go into detail next month, but until then, here is a brief plan of what to expect in the new year. - A detailed Jack B. Nimble iOS postmortem, including sales figures, trend data and my thoughts regarding the release
- More Jack B. Nimble video devlogs outlining the progress of the Steam port
- The release of Jack B. Nimble for Windows and Mac on Steam
- A final Jack B. Nimble postmortem for the Steam version and my plans for the future
I’m aware that I failed to meet some of my Jack B. Nimble goals set this time last year. But with game releases, a change of jobs, and a cross-country move, I feel I had a pretty good crack at it. And I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if Jack B. Nimble even needs a dedicated website; an App Store listing, Steam entry and Itch.io page seem sufficient. You can read this in full here: http://noonan.design/news/end-of-month-update-december-2017/I'm also thinking about the possibility of a patch for the iOS version. There's a patch with the middleware to fix a number of hardware crashes on older iPhones - more here: https://blog.cocoon.io/cocoon-2-2-0-v8-update-is-here/I'm not sure if I should let this get in the way of the Steam version, because at this point they are separate games and I'd rather not get distracted with "old" code. We'll see

Okay so it's been a while. Here's where we're at... Jack B. Nimble for Steam is currently in submission and waiting on Valve to approve the Steam Store page. I've heard that this is a pretty simple process, however, my store page was denied. And it was denied for the strangest of reasons... Your store page has failed our review because the "Visit the website" link leads to a page meant to sell the same product through other stores, which is not allowed here. The page includes purchase options for the Apple App Store https://sean-noonan.itch.io/jackbnimble Please remove or replace this link. This can be edited in the External Links area found in Basic Info tab on Steamworks. This is strange, because multiple games that I used as reference when building my Steam Store page also linked to their itch.io page, and in the case of some games (Downwell for example) actually advertise the iOS version in the Steam trailer on their Steam Store page! I'm guess it's special rules for known or published developers? Or maybe I'm just unlucky? Who knows, but I've removed all mentions of other platforms or any external links to any websites - go marketing! So I'm expecting that the game will be up for wishlisting soon. I don't have much of a following, so it might actually be a little depressing to see a hard count of player interest... but I feel any metric at this stage will help me to gauge interest and project potential sales figures. So here's the capsule image for the Steam Store: Other than that, I've been considering my options in regards to a patch for the iOS version. I'll see how much interest there is as I ramp up PC marketing!

A quick update - just finished working on the achievements. I still need to test them, but the code is in and the icons are made.
Next up, leaderboards!

Okay so leaderboards and achievements are all in and I've tweaked a couple of bonus animations, namely Jack B. Nimble's sprite when he is without hat. I think he looks a little more lively now I'll finally be moving onto the global quite screen tomorrow and after that? Just whatever hoops I need to jump through to submit the PC & Mac builds to Steam. I'd love to get cloud saving in, but it's looking more likely that'll be day one patch. Wish me luck!

Full controller support is in!
Mac build is fixed!
I've resubmitted to Valve, however, I'm still not confident I'll get through. The game's properties in Steam don't list cloud saving as an option and the community leaderboard links don't work. I guess we'll find out in 5 working days!
