Good point. Animation is not everyone's cup of tea, I suppose. The techniques do transfer between mediums. I have done some pixel, pencil&paper, stop motion, vector, 3d, and now ascii. All of them are fun to work on but take lots of time.

On this topic, the Crawl logo tutorial is really cool

Trying to decide the color of the web in the background. Surprisingly difficult decision to make.

If in doubt, go for greenGrin

Based on the static images, I prefer the one on top because there's more contrast and it's easier to see the spider.  If there's less contrast, then everything becomes a "single thing".  Of course, animation might help distinguish the spider from the web if the entire spider moves around.

+1 for higher contrast between spider and background - makes the spider a lot more threatening.

The movements are looking good for the most part.  I like how in the top image, the spider closes its eyes before attack.  But the eye "flickering" as the leg passes by in the bottom image seems a bit strange.

Got lots done in the game this week, but...

While working on the steamworks page I went to look at the press kit for some text about the company... and it is just a blank page. How exactly does a static php file stop working?

My SO (clueless about games) will watch me as I play Stone Story in the future and ask "where and when did you dig that out from?" and this would be a sign of a job well done... Looking at your work this far, I really can't wait!

I've been chopping away at this game, even though I haven't posted anything lately. All boring code stuff and level polish.

Today I have some good news. The Steam page has been approved by Valve and is up! People can start adding it to their wishlist now:

This game looks awesome...





I found this game all by sitting around looking for other rpgs, (I am a diablo 2 and Ultima vii fan after all) and stumbled upon this and when i looked at i went speechless Epileptic... and then i started crying thinking, i finally found it! An actually good indie rpg not made with rpg maker!  Tears of Joy...


but then i found out it hasnt been released... and i froze and kept yelling no  No No NO.

Which leads me too beta testing. i would like a free beta and if like the beta i would pay big bucks for the full game in late 2018.  Hand Money Left Hand Money Right

anyway thank you for doing this.. thank you...  Hand Clap Coffee.
