PureQuestion, I like the scenery in your levels, Its really cool.  I especially liked how the entrance appeared in tropic island.  It seems like you can put more stuff into each level though.  Some of the levels you could probably combine into one. Sounds like a really cool idea though.

I could compress it, but I like the openness of it all. It adds to the effect of just how massive this place really is. This isn't just one volcano, as our hero discovers, there are quite a few, and he'll spend just as much time scaling the outer walls as he will traversing the inside. This is just as much a piece of art as it is a game. Perhaps more so. More than half of what I add is there for visual appeal. I want to enthrall the player.

On that note, 3 more levels have been created.

Thanks for your feedback, and enjoy the next 3 levels. As before, start on tropic island. I might have forgotten to link level 4 to level 5, so you might have to fix that.

Guess what everyone!

It's an update!

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zmwwhj34gzy

As out hero goes farther from his starting point, he discovers the second base. The farther he goes, the more intelligent the creatures seem. They become more dangerous with each room, and more so for each base. He can only imagine what the next base will have in store for him.

You have to save your 10 wives who've been captured by the evil pervert bat twins.
(sadly this map often crashes here at 2 diff places, without any meaningful error msg)

it's... complete.

3 bases. the entrance. the final treasure filled chamber, and 9 "volcano" levels.

3 kilobytes.

Most of my effort went into the aesthetics.

feedback would be appreciated.

There's errors upon opening the levels. They play fine if you press ignore. I don't know what's causing it. I hope it's fixed in v1

Companion Cube
Inspired by Portal. Pretty much purely a puzzle level.

Yay, I found the Spelunky Levels Thread!  Cave Story

I heard Spelunky from my brother, and after playing around with it, I found the level editor. The levels I made were posted on the Spelunky Wiki, but here's the links:

Sudden Death Showdown

Info: Made by me; Good luck when playing this level. You will be tested to see how well you can go without getting hit; It's also kind of a puzzle-type level mostly. Some puzzles are basic, others; more difficult to pull off.

Underground Utopia

Info: Made by me; This level in my opinion is the best level I've EVER done yet. You have 8 lives and a pistol; don't let neither go to waste. Deep underground, you've heard of an ancient treasure, hidden away; however, years passed. The tribe who once guarded their treasure was wiped out by various cave monsters. Now, you dare to head underground and claim the treasure. However... can you pull it off? Crazy

Sadly, a small tweak I made to the physics of the game busted Cruelty, and will probably bust similar levels. Undecided

Basically, I fixed a bug which was preventing the player's velocity from being capped.  Still considering removing the "fix" as I'm not sure it makes the game much better - the movement does feel a little tighter, though, maybe.

Capped velocity? doubt mine is hitting the cap. It definitely abuses the glitch where spring boards are super powerful after you've been hit. I'd appreciate not fixing that.

I seem to be having trouble doing it in a new level, though. maybe the gap between you and the arrow is needed. more testing will be done.

Just something I did in the last hour.
Not much story wise. Something like you just got done ransacking a temple and now you are on your way out through the back.
It's not too hard. My goal was to try and make it look nice. Ehh, I guess it looks alright.

Some screens to peak or lower your interest levels. (some things may be slightly different)

http://www.filedropper.com/spelunkyquest

After working on it about a week or so, I think I have a decent little campaign here for Spelunky. The entire thing is 20 levels, made with a plot in mind, but perhaps hard to pick up on while playing... and it's ridiculously cheesy, but I worked with what I had Wink. In each level there are also three diamonds. For the most part they are in needlessly dangerous places and out of the way of the actual goal, but if you want an extra challenge try to collect all three in each level. All levels are reasonably beatable (execpt lv.18, I've only gotten to the exit once, out of testing it something like 50 times), and don't be discouraged by the harder ones! Keep trying, eventually you'll figure out something that works.

The plot for those of you who are curious enough to wonder;

Lv.1-5: The hero finds a hidden cave in one of the ruins he's spelunking around. Naturally falling down the rabbit hole he fights off the inhabitants in search of treasure, or any leftovers, or fossils evidence of past civilizations.
Lv.6-10: Instead what our hero discovers is a small civilization living underground. Fighting his way through the plebeians and slaves, he journeys farther into the cities to figure out whats going on.
Lv.11-15: Beyond remnants of the Ice Age, our hero finds that rouge scientists have built themselves a utopia in these caverns. Refusing the hero safe entry out of the caves, he finds no other option than to push forward, and hopefully find some way out. (They might also be trying to take over the world or something. Either way, they're all bastards.
Lv.16-19: At the core of the village, our hero detonates the machines keeping the natural magma at bay. This causes the ice to immediately melt, and all hell break loose. Our hero desperately dodges falling blocks, desperate slaves, and deadly security traps as he tries to return to the upper world.

Also included is TheBrothel, in which your goal is to see how many Damsels you can rescue before you die. I believe there are six, but if you can rescue one or two on the first run you should consider yourself amazing.

Good luck, have fun playing and thanks Derek for game and level editor! If only Cave Story had one of those...  Big Laff

There is a massive problem with this: There's a technique that let's you get past the spikes, making the first section REALLY easy.
