Our designer added another feature to our prototype to start making it feel like a more rounded out demo, an intro cut scene and dialogue!

The "linear tile" system sounds interesting. Is the world chopped into large squares with unit positions within those squares?

The unit position is technically the tile square itself, but each tile has spaces to fit multiple units on. You can see here in this screenshot where each red square is where a unit stands.

We have more to share about the narrative of the game, specifically the main protagonist, G. Martin Wallace.

"The player starts with Martin Wallace landing on Outland 3 seeking out the truth. You help choose the direction of your revolution by gathering the people to organize a more effective force that can match the military force present on Outland 3. Every new member to the team unlocks new missions, new insights, and possibly a new path to win the Revolution."

Trying to be careful about making each page too GIF heavy, so here's a couple more still image updates we had earlier this week.

We had this early concept our for the laser muskets that combined more filigree and metal finishing to tradition iron and wood musket.



Here in game is another modified version of the musket that has more sniper modifications. This one of course packs more of a punch and has increased accuracy to the mid-range laser musket weapon. Weapons can be customized like this to suite your playstyle needs!

We finished up with the Square Enix Collective and are working on other features for the game. One of them is the solar system, where the mission select screen will be based on. And of course, following good ol' Mr. JJ Abrams, we added some lens flare for style =P

Our time on Square Enix's site (The Collective) went well. Now we are shooting our kickstarter video. SOMEONE on the team (cough Grant cough) got bored between takes and did a faceswap.

New work in progress of my favorite thing in our game, the horse bike or, as we lovingly refer to it, the hover pony! With this, squad members can zip around the battle field and hover circles around the enemy.

Looks very cool. One bit of critique I'd have is that the HUD/UI doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the game. I think that might be because it's full on sci-fi style. Maybe you can somehow mix a little bit of 18th century style in there. Something based on the typography and decoration styles of the time perhaps.

Our designer just finished importing the horse bike model into the game and it's now an actual object in the game! Players will be able to improve their squads mobility greatly and look cool doing it =D
