Hello everyone!

We come from here http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=40627.0

We didn't succeed at our Kickstarter campaign, but we found a private investor thanks to it. So we managed to keep on developing our game.

Our latest trailer so far is here:

But I must say that in fact it's pretty old and the game looks much better now, it's just that we don't have enough time to make another trailer without stopping the developing of the game. And the game is the priority now. Our closed beta relase launch date is Nov. 2014 so we're working hardly to fulfill that date.

What's Formula Wincars?

Well, our game is intended to be totally oriented to online competition with some features like up to 4000 players tournaments. The game will be free to play, so our promise is to keep the game balanced and don't let anyone be the winner by just spending money. In fact, the strategy and tactics will be the key. Every feature of the game will be reachable within sense by just playing without spending any money. Tournaments will do have an inscription fee, and in exchange, there will be real life prizes to winnners, and virtual goodies like car skins to every participant.

There will also be a co-op mode, 4 Vs 4 challenges, where players will be able to share driver's special skills getting to develop their own unique strategy among thousands of possibilities. We like to think of this mode like if it were a MOBA game, but where you win the battle by winning races.

Well, that's all by now. Don't hesitate to ask anything, provide feedback o suggest ideas. I'll update this thread with new screenshots or news regarding the game.

By the way we're also running a development blog at www.formulawincars.com We update it frequently (2-3 times a week) and we always keep to provide some insight into how me manage to solve all problems we encounter while working on the game

Thanks a lot for your attention

The 1 online focused racing game that I got really into was Motor City Online.

The feature I loved about it was the club (aka guilds) features. Clubs could build a few cars that its members could use. and there were various club v club races for prestige and bragging rights.

All in all it looks good i love the art style.

I never played Motor City Online, but yes, I do like all those team features that you highlight from that game and our intention is to go in that direction with our game.

Glad to hear you like how Formula Wincars look, thanks for your comment!

NEW UPDATE!

**Some pictures of the team at work!**

Lately, we've focused on posts regarding technical aspects of the game (programming, designing, modeling...) keeping you all updated on our progress and sharing knowledge gathered from facing daily game-development issues. It's been a while since last time we posted pictures of our cave, so here they come!

Straight out of our concept-artist's mind and right ahead into the screen! And yes! That's a ruined church with alien simbology displayed in it. Just a little sample of all unsolved mysteries hidden behind Formula Wincars tournament!

Not sure if the artists were discussing character's anatomy proportions when we took this picture, or just talking about a DragonBall episode.

DragonJam's CEO posing for all our fans

Work In Progress Truck I

Work In Progress Truck II

Good news! Tournaments are already working smoothly. Have we mentioned that tournaments will be one of the game's greatest pillar? Yeah, there will be stunning prizes for winners and it ensures that the community will be constantly challenged.

Angel has been immersed in modeling a high-detailed 3D castle for our new circuit. It will feature many different floor levels, hidden areas, spider webs, blood and a mysterious resident too! We can't unveil much more about that without spoiling the surprise, but for what we've seen so far, we guarantee that it will leave you open-mouthed!

Some stained glass windows designs for the castle. Like most things in Formula Wincars, there's a secret hidden in them....

Jesus smiles after he notices that we've been trolling him adding a Justin Biever song among the FX audio test files.

Looking for inspiration.

"¡Hey guys!, have you seen 4chan leaks?"

This is a work in progress. It shows a Golem Samurai in its higher evolution level. When we said that drivers will have Special Skills we really meant it! Forget about that throwing bananas childish thing!

Finally, the entire team in two different pictures

Hi everyone!

We're still working hard on doing all the arrangements in order to launch our closed-Beta. Still don't have an exact launch date, but we're estimating like 2 months from now.

We're working hard on many aspects of the game: gameplay, polishing models, creating new content like vehicles, drives and circuits, fixing bugs.....

Besides, we have a great news this week and received some media coverage for it:

Javi Diez To Write Music For Formula Wincars

DragonJam Studios confirms that the upcoming release of its multiplayer racing title will feature original music by rocker Javi Diez from famous rock act Mägo de Oz.

Javi Diez combines his career as a professional and successful musician with his other passion, video games. He’s been playing every single game he’s been able to get his hands into since he was a child. Some of his favorite titles are The Secret of Monkey Island, American McGee’s Alive or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

“I always wanted to write music for video games, but it wasn’t until a year ago that I decided to go for it”, says spanish folk-metal musician, who mentions among his influences Adam Skorupa from The Witcher saga, 80’s video game classic soundtracks, and above them all Shadow of the Colossus’ soundtrack “utter madness from the beginning to the end”

We're more than happy with this, Mago de Oz is such a huge band in Spain and South American countries, having sold millions of copies of their records, and it will surely help us reaching a bigger audience. Besides, we've heard some tunes he's written already and THEY ROCK!  Grin Grin

Here's a picture of Javi Diez visiting our studio for the first time:

We've also uploaded a video showing some animation tests we've working on, in order to prepare the Drivers Selection screen.

Just let us know what you think about our progress!!

We've made this picture displaying some of the cars which will be available in our game, and there will be many more than these!

Hi again!

A close-up images of some of the models:

In fact, these are my favorites!

Cobra Atlus

Carelle Monsta

And Paddle Slieben. I chose this one yesterday while testing the game at the studio, and I was nicely surprised how cool it looked once integrated into the gameplay:

Hey there!

We've received very good feedback on our cars' models, BUT some people have asked us why we were always showing only the front side of the cars.

The truth is that we hadn't notice that! For that reason, we want to show the back side from the cars, and prove that we're also taking care of details there!

What do you think of this new point of view?

Hello again!

Today we're very happy because we've introduced our latest stage, and so far, everybody likes it so much!

It is called Isla Aventura

"A tropical island environment where you will be able to compete through its 4 different circuits. Driving around a volcanic eruption?, overtaking your enemies in the middle of a pirate shipwreck? Yes, all this and more! Besides, you racers won't be the alone in the island, as you soon will discover...."

Some screenshots!

Hanging Cliffs circuit:

Jurassic Volcano circuit:

Skull Mountain circuit:

Isla Aventura Special circuit:

As always, we'd appreciate a lot if you could give us your opinion on these first screenshots, and suggest your own ideas too, honestly, some of your opinions have helped us to notice some mistakes we were doing.

Ah!, and don't forget that you can still sign up at our site for future closed-beta acess (www.formulawincars.com) and play the game before anyone else. We've also polished the website look, in case you want to have a look and check it. We also make a blog post on a weekly basis, explaining all the problems we encounter while developing the game, and the solutions we make up for overtaking them.

Exciting news!

We're thrilled to introduce two new game's songs including our main theme!

Here, you can listen to “Burning Wheels” by Javi Diez from Mägo de Oz. This song will be our main theme from now on!

https://soundcloud.com/dragonjam/formula-wincars-burning-wheels-teaser

Next one: “Dark Night” by David Miralles. This song will sound while drivers compete in a circuit from Castelul Bûna Moartem stage, a spooky and frozen land where you’ll race through a ghostly graveyard, a destroyed church or even the dungeons of a mysterious castle.

https://soundcloud.com/dragonjam/formula-wincars-dark-night-teaser

Awesome, right? The truth is that we had a blast when we heard them for the first time, we couldn’t be more happy with this. Smiley Smiley Hand Thumbs Up Left

We'd really like to hear your first impressions on the songs!

Thanks in advance!

News!

It’s been a tough month full of intense work, but it also brought highly gratifying results. In this update we will show you some screenshots which illustrates our progress, don’t hesitate to leave a comment expressing any thought you may have on this. Feedback is much appreciated!

Drivers:

Menu Screens

Circuits

At the moment we are implementing each car's final handling, this means that soon we'll be able to make a new gameplay trailer (our current trailer is waaaay too old).

Besides, we've decided that finally, we will change the game's name. We took into account the feedback received (some of you didn't like the name at all) and there also was a risk of some legal conflict because of using the word "Formula"....so we decided to change the name. We'll announce the new one soon!

Thanks for the support!

Hello everyone!

Wow!, it’s been a loong time since last time I posted here on our progress. Almost two months of hard and intense work that had its results as you are able to see. First and foremost, our most important news….we change our game’s name!

From now on, our game will be named Wincars Racer!!

Reasons why?  In fact, many factors have made us take this decision. First, your opinion. Many of you have said that you didn’t like the name, and truth is that we weren’t completely happy with it either. We put it provisionally, then time went on….and well, you know how these things work. Besides, we had noticed that the game was been perceived as a Formula 1 game, when we’re more into the arcade & karting gameplay adding strategy. Lastly, there were many people who warned us about the risk of facing a legal conflict with Formula 1 trademark, having been previous cases where other titles had been sued for that.

So…new name! We still use the word Wincars cause we are already known for that name and will help people find us in google and stuff like that. 

We’ve algo taking advantage of this opportunity to launch a new image in our website and make a new promo image taking into account all the feedback given by you.

At last, new gameplay screenshots:

We also got made the cards for all circuits which will be displayed when choosing the one to play in.

And finally….the cars! We’ve got now more than 100 different models. In next updates, I’ll explain how different they feel when it comes to drive them and all differences between them, today I’m just going to post some pics to let you see our progress in this and hear what you think about how they look so far:

This is a good example of how changing skins will affect to the same car. These following two images belong to the same car ( a Mignon) but they’re set up with two different skins (we’re developing an internet-based game….there must be cats!!!)

This is a detail that nostalgic racers will sure appreciate!

As always, we’d love to hear your opinión on our work, what you like better and that sort of things. You can ask us whatever that you feel like or thow any crazy idea that you’d like to see in the game. Believe it or not, we take them into account for real!

And don’t forget that you can still sign up for future closed-beta acess in our site at www.wincarsracer.com
Greetings from the dev team at DragonJam!

P.S. I’m going to check if there’s any chance of changing the thread’s title to reflect the change in the game name

Hi again…

…we’re thrilled to show new Wincars Racer game footage!

We really wanted to show some “in-movement” stuff where you can appreciate how the game is getting better as the development goes on.

This video is part of a blog post to be shared tomorrow where you will be able to know more details about the handling and feel of each of the 4 car series present in the game.

New game images:

This is one of the fake ads than will be placed in certain spots of the circuits whose intention is to give a real-life feel to the game’s universe. We’ve even made some of them featuring the game’s characters as media stars announcing commercial products like soda and stuff like that….

A close-up shot at the Dawn Of the Racers brand new car skin (all these skin names are still provisional, so we’d appreciate some feedback on them… and you can even suggest your own ideas to name them!)

The Wild One car skin for Carelle model. Personally, my favorite among all skins we’ve made so far….

A gameplay screenshot that will help you to get a quick overview of how racing trying to avoid giant rolling stones will be in Isla Aventura

Finally, Bradley using Rocket Rush Special Skill in its higher level, which is basically three huge turbines on full throttle giving your racer an extra boost. Using it wisely in the right moment will allow you to change race positions completely.

We’d really appreciate if you could leave your opinion about this update, both the video and the images. Ideas & suggestions are much welcome!!

If you like the game so far, you can go sign up at our site and you’ll have future closed-beta access guaranteed so that you will be able to be the first ones to play it and help use with the testing and balancing the game.

Greetings from the entire dev team!

Hello everyone!

It’s been a month and a half since last update so today there is a lot of new stuff to show you.

More than 100 new skins appear in the game!

Up to this point, for the development tests, we just used one skin of each of the eleven car models. So it was time to finally introduce the special models.
We are tripping! Here you can see a few real screenshots so you can have an idea of how they look and the current state of the game:

New cover!

At last an image that truly presents the game.

The challenge was to create a cover that conveyed the emotion of the races while presenting the pilots and the cars in an attractive way. Truth is we think we have succeeded in doing this and we are very happy with the result.

We want to say a big thank you all for the feedback that you have given us on the temporary images that we have been using previously, it has helped us a lot when it came to visualizing the final version.

Final web design

We are working on the website’s facelift which has been a development blog up to now, and which will be, from this point on, an integral part of the game.

This way it will become the fundamental tool in order to download the game and also the meeting point to Racers worldwide.

Checking that everything works fine

If we talk about functionalities, as you can see in the picture, these sections have already been added: News, The Game, Gallery and Community, and inside this last one, you’ll find the awaited Forum. Social media have more weight too, adding the Facebook widget in the side bar.

Rear view

As soon as the game started working as we wanted it to work, and the races started being fun, balanced and frantic, we realized that it was time to work on the rear view mode.

Although we still have to assign it to a definite button and work out a few details (remove certain particles and camera effects which don’t make sense for the rear view), the first tests have been a complete success, and have added a lot of value to the gameplay.

Turbo particles

We have improved its particles and truth is it’s amazing. We are very proud of the visual feel that you get when using the Turbo. You can see it in this image:

Introducing the drivers

Same as with the game cover, it has been decided to present the pilots in individual illustrations using their exclusive special ability.

At this time we have started working with Montana Dom!

That’s all, we’re really happy with the idea of sharing our progress here in the boards and listen to opinions, ideas and suggestions directly from you.

Greetings to everyone here at TIGForums!
