Hello all!

I'd like to announce Beam Chess: a two player strategy game for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Description
How many times have you said to yourself, "Chess is pretty cool, but I sure wish it had LASERS". Well, wait no longer! Beam Chess is here, and it's chock-full of beamy goodness.

You can play with a friend on a single device, or you can play between two devices over a Wi-Fi connection. There's even a snarky tutorial to walk you through the basics.

Give it a try! After all, lasers make everything better.

More Info:
You can discuss the game and express your fondness for peaches over on the main website:

I hope you like it!

This seems like a fun idea.

I don't, unfortunately, possess either of the required doodads. Cheers, though, it looks like a slick game!

Me neither. But isn't here an old DOS game or something that this was modeled after?

EDIT: Atari ST. Aw heck, it was a BASIC type-in.

Yup, you are correct! It was originally an Atari-ST type-in published in Compute! magazine many years ago. The response was so strong that they subsequently published other versions for Apple //, C-64, Amiga, etc. It's sort of a public domain game design that's been around in various forms for many years. I felt that the iPhone was a good platform to expose more mainstream people to this nifty little game. I typed in the Apple // version back in the 80s, and I was thrilled with it. Smiley

The vertical addition to Khet is really cool- I hadn't seen that before. Thanks for the link!  Smiley
