Thanks guys!
@ugabuga: yes I would like it to be a point and click adventure in the likes of Police Quest games.

Tonight update is just an lowrez environment test, it's still not done and I'm not sure if it will end up in the game but something I'll be doing my trial and error.

Ah, this looks fantastic based on the little you've posted!

Love the low-res 3D art. It's a smart move if there are going to be lots of scenes/environments.
A real nice vibe so far so I'll definitely be watching closely to see where this goes.

Feel free to check out my music if you're looking for a composer to work with. I love classic point and click adventures. Music plays a huge role in bringing the scenes, themes and moods to life, more so than other genres. I'd love to create something truly unique for your game if the chance was available.

Any ideas regarding the story? I can throw some ideas your way if and when it's needed.

Thanks guys Smiley

@ Leo J : I'll definitely keep you in mind for the audio. I'm still a very long way from putting it all together in the engine, so for a while it'll just be a lot of art and animation.

Game Update:

I rigged up one of the cops and animated a test walk.

btw, have you guys used imagemagick for the post processing of frames? I just started playing around with it and it's a huge time savor if you can get used to using the command-line tool instead of the gui.

Looks awesome. Could you post a non-pixelated highres version of the walk animation? I'd be very curious to see how that looks Smiley

@KingPenguin: Thanks for the kind words. I made you a little recording of how they look before rendering.

Huh, this is interesting. Like those low-poly, pixelated graphics, too. Looks really interesting!

P.S. There's a "Forum" arena in LA, California as well - might wanna change the name, in case the game gets big, haha.

Hahaha, nice, the original Police Quest was such a great game. The rest of the series that followed it seems so crappy in comparison. There was an EGA charm and simplicity to the aesthetic of the original and how the game tried to fully simulate and tell this tale of an unbelievable day in the life of one (incredibly quickly promoted to) detective.

The pacing of that game might have made more sense if they had just done time lapse transitions after every time you did something in the game. Like, stop the drunk driver and then "Later that week...", bring the evidence to the court to stop that guy from getting bail or whatever, "Then a month later..." something like that.

The only thing I didn't like about that game was the damn poker game. What was with Sierra and forcing you to save file cheat to win gambling games in order to proceed in their adventure games? What is this, Casino Royale?

This is pretty fantastic looking. Enjoying the "lo-fi" polygon art.

Keep it up!

Thanks for that! Looks good without the pixelation as well. The new character looks great too! Can't wait to see some gameplay

Thanks for the support fellas.

Not a huge update tonight. I did some more work on the crime scene level and I rigged up and added in a corpse. Next step is to work on the rest of the hotel tower and maybe come up with a interesting title.
