Update 174: 12/02/2022

City Planning

Unity's in-editor view of the City of Desolus

I'm in the process of planning out the design of the City of Desolus, which comprises the entire game.
Everything you see here will be explorable, the entire top section of the city (minus the central castle) is mostly finished gameplay wise.

Recently I've been working on the bottom section of the city, and charting a path of how everything is interconnected.
I'm hoping by the end of the month I have a cohesive plan for the remaining content.

Why do I hear boss music? And why is it played on a church organ?

Don't jinx it! If you say it out loud there's a chance it will turn out to be another Mt. Stupid along the way!

Looks really cool! I'm guessing you are rendering the main scene, the background scene and then mixing both renderings in the portal shader?

Hi folks! Haven't posted here in a while. Here's lots of new gifs for you Toast Right

---

Explore a city of Gothic architecture torn between past and future in Desolus, a first person puzzle game.

---

An enigmatic cataclysm has fractured reality, opening portals which lead to other times. Explore the past and future versions of an expansive city.

---

Solve Escher-like puzzles through the use of black holes, traveling back and forth through time to make architecture whole again.

---

Challenge your spatial thinking by navigating impossible architecture, as reality distorts and time becomes increasingly unstable.

---

Activate holograms to move massive portals between floors of crumbled cathedrals, allowing you to traverse structures which only partially exist in one time.

---

Partner with the city's guardian to prevent a cataclysm which threatens to merge past and future. Save the City of Desolus from annihilation.

We Out Here

I've been doing very well recently, I think I regained a lot of my fire and momentum.
Making games is absolutely a marathon and not a sprint.

I am particularly excited about the puzzle design I've planned out for the later portion of the game. I think there's a ton of potential, and I know how to actualize it.
Had some close industry friends playtest recently, and I think I've made a significant breakthrough in design.

Just wanted to say hi
