The Legend Returns & The Mad Monks' Revenge only had 2 players; Jake Peril (white) & Wes Reckless (blue).
I had added an extra 2 players months ago that were just placeholders (the names Jane & Digmo were borrowed from Lode Runner 2) but were removed so I could focus on getting LAN out of the way.
I'm hoping to have them and their own tools fully playable for the July build.

The August build is up and ready for download. Not sure why but I never updated TIG last month Shocked As always, you can download native copies for Windows, Linux and OS X.

For this who missed the July roundup, you can read it here and the August here.

An update too for those playing the Original Lode Runner on Windows 10: the file dialog box is now working again with the Anniversary Update but on some machines only a few puzzles show. You can read about it here.

Next month will see monks no longer bunching up close on ladders, updates to the file dialog and a whole whack of updates and fixes. At the moment, I'd say the game is pretty much on par with the Original. Networking still has some way to go but at the moment, is very playable.

  • Jane and Digmo properly added
  • editor tile palette added
  • new gameplay options to customize your game
  • complete an entire puzzle set
  • monk AI fixes
  • secret exit doors added
  • the menu bar no longer shows on OS X in full-screen mode
  • massive editor overhaul with improvements to cut/copy/paste/undo
  • fixes to bomb detonation
  • press F12 to take a screenshot (saved in your "Lode Runner Online" directory

Easily see what a bomb will destroy straight in the editor

Welcome Jane and Digmo!

Updated tool palette that has the same look and feel as the Original

New gameplay options: limit lives, start with more lives or play for X minutes

Commodore 64 theme added

You can read all the highlights of the October build in the one post here. I seem to have forgotten to post about the September build - again.

  • massive updates to monk AI
  • new editor features to speed up puzzle creation
  • 1983/classic rules mode now working
  • massive stability updates for LAN games

Windows, Linux and Mac OS X builds can be grabbed from the downloads page.

Hover a monk to see which entry doors he will use

Paint every 2nd tile

Better looking phase exit blocks
