Hello guys.
My name is Andrea, I'm a male since Andrea is a male name in Italy, where I was born and raised.

I'm an indie developer working on a visual novel / simulation called General Practitioner, which I'll introduce to you in the next few days. I hope you play it. I'll be VERY happy just with it.

If you, after some playthrough, decide do comment about my game and my idea I'll greatly appreciate it. Since this is my first game feedbacks are the most vital things.

I'll present the game in the right topic and post a link to a downloadable pre-alpha version (0.0.2). The game is and always will be free, if you think I deserve your support from build to build it's up to you to follow me on my page, but I will continue to develop it nonetheless, because I take great pleasure just doing it.

See you around guys!

Currently in-between jobs and doing some soul searching as I am having hard time recognizing the game development scene with all these micro-transactions, advertisements, season passes and overblown dlc's and working on some of these things has made me question the state and the health of the industry a bit.

Is that what Quit Button is about? Welcome to the forums Smiley

Hey, what's up!

Name's Alex, I'm a Russian wanna-be-Game Maker and for the past decade I've been making mods for the game called Blockland.

Blockland's like a blend of Garry's Mod and Legos, where you can build in real-time while also creating various add-ons from weapons, playertypes and /kill commands to complete gamemodes - It's more like a game engine with easy multiplayer aspects to it.

My projects in Blockland were several basic items and weapons, a complete Half-Life 2 Weapons Pack, a weapons pack resembling Counter-Strike in some aspects, parkour playertype resembling Mirror's Edge, Complex Weapons resembling Wolfire Games' "Receiver" in how they handle and various gamemodes mostly focusing on Murder Mystery - my most notable being Despair Syndrome and its current sequel, Despair Fever.
(I've also had an add-on making service at some point and made a Dueling Mod and helped SapphireServes' MedievalRP by creating a completely new Melee system that uses raycasts closely following the weapon models instead of single eyeVector rays every other weapon used at the time.)
i also have 3219 hours in blockland and that's just from the steam version i dont know what the hell is wrong with me

I've also dabbled in coding for BYOND, specifically helping out with the Hippie Station server on Space Station 13 game. My contributions to the community are Pixel Projectiles (not the Goonstation version, originally made for Atlas Station) and improved gore/dismemberment systems based on TGStation codebase. I also made a lot of things and trinkets for Hippie Station as well as several system rewrites but they rebased recently and are probably dying a slow death... bummer. Noir

How I started enjoying vidyagames? Well, our household always had a computer, and I played various games with my friend or my mom or aunt. We had Heart of Darkness, a brutal 2d platformer with some really nice and smooth animation and a lot of gruesome yet bloodless deaths.

I also remember playing games like Quake 3 Arena, Half-Life 1 and its expansions, Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc and Rayman M. The first "sandbox fun time" game I played was Lego Creator - I really liked legos as a kid (Still do!) and that game was like a dream come true for some time.
Various other Lego games I really enjoyed, like Lego Racers, Lego Loco and Lego Island.

Finally, as soon as I realised Roblox is a thing in late 2008 I jumped straight into it, making various tiny things with zero coding involved. Though Roblox really dropped the ball for me in mid-2010 and that is when I discovered Neverdaunt 8-Bit.

Neverdaunt 8-Bit is an old MMORPG thingamajig made by Aion of Robot<3Kitty. It was a sort of sandbox territory warfare game with some really cool Tronics system which would allow you to make various machinations to protect your place. Heck, some people made full on text adventures with those tronics!

After N8* went kaput, though, I finally moved on to Blockland, and the rest is history...

Lately I've been worrying about making a completely standalone game as opposed to countless mods, but due to lack of motivation or some other weird factors I couldn't pull it off. I hope that talking to you guys would really get the ball rolling and I'm hoping to create something great (or at least interesting) at the end of the summer!

Might write about those issues there as well. But mainly trying to contribute to the scene with tutorials around less common subjects.

Hai!

I'm Stephy.

I've been interested in game development since... Well, I don't know. A long time? I started with RPG Maker (of course lol), but I'm thinking of trying other programs. When I get a new computer.

My BF and I met on a game-making forum. We've been together for 8 years. We are in the process of making a game since 2010, and have 3 friends I made helping us.

Despite the long development time, we don't have anything to show - except maybe some sprites. I'm thinking about starting a devlog here soon. Maybe.

ANYHOO. Seeing all the different, unique games here is awesome!

I think I've already introduced myself but it was a long time ago. I've got a couple different game prototypes that I've made in Game Maker and I'm looking to get one of them to a finished project some time soon. Excited to be here!

Hey There!  Smiley

I'm Tomas. A sound designer and music composer from Ushuaia, Argentina (its like the southernmost city in the world they say).

I'm currently working on Ethereal (@ethereal_game) (https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=58821.0;topicseen) (Trailer:

).
And we've just been nominated on the Big Festival for Best Latin American Game and Best Sound!  =D

I'm very new in this forum thing. But I'm looking forward to make friends and be useful if I can!  Grin

Here's my stuff if anyone wants to hear some of it!  tomasbatista.com
And, this is a little bit offtopic maybe, but every once in awhile I make a cover of a song I really like and change it all the way through. That stuff is here: https://soundcloud.com/tom-s-batista

So... Hi! =D

BraveZebra here. We're a small game outsourcing studio that have been in business for almost 5 years (mostly using Unity). We like to work with other indie teams, not only large companies, so let's see if we can work together  Coffee

Hello,
My name is Dan Switchblade and I have been gaming since receiving a hand-me-down Atari 2600 (River Raid, Jungle Hunt) in the late 1980's.  After that got a hand-me-down Commodore 64 (Jumpman).  When I was finally able to choose what system to buy, made the questionable choice of TurboGrafx16 (Bonk's Adventure, Blazing Lazers).  Then decided to play it safe with the SNES (Actraiser, Super Metroid) and the Playstation (Suikoden, Tomb Raider).  Later: Atari Jaguar (Tempest 2000), Dreamcast (Jet Grind Radio), and Gamecube (Resident Evil 4).  Also various PCs (Quest For Glory Series, Master of Orion), and now mostly just game on PC (mostly Bethesda games and Indy games).

My mind was blown: the first time I played DOOM (not having seen it and expecting it to be a 2.5D game for some reason), and the first time I watched someone play Grand Theft Auto 3 (the ridiculous open-world shenanigans).

I used to be obsessed with video game magazines. I was really into 3d modelling/animation as a hobby for a while. Have been working a day job as a web programmer for 10 years or so, but always wanting to make games.

Have completed a few game jam type projects in my spare time.  Been lurking on the forums for a while, mostly looking at DevLogs, my intention is to start one of those for my current project.

Hello people!
I'm Francesco and while pretending to be an architect during the daytime, at night and on the weekends I become a game dev!
Given my background, the place where I live, I have a healthy obsession with castles, ruins and decrepit stuff in general: this obsession inevitably affects game ideas I have most of the time.

I am an UE4 adept at the moment, making my way through blueprints and 3D modeling which I am more accustomed to obviously.
I am currently working on a new project called MEMORY CASTLE which is not really a game nor a toy, but I wouldn't define it merely as a tool. I would like to have some feedback about the idea and the progress I make through time.

What is the right place in this great forum where I could ask for some feedback design wise and development wise?

Thank you!

Does anyone even read these...? Sure hope not because I'm about to unload an autobiography on your butts.

I'm Daoyi, from South Africa. I'm a digital artist that's trying my best to avoid going back to the advertising and casino industry.

I think I became aware of the games industry much later than most. Being a foreign female only child with no social skills, I don't think I was the target audience of those family fun ads being all "hey johnny, wanna see something cool??" so it never occurred to my parents to get me toys like that until much later, eventually, at the age of 14. My first lucid experience with games arrived on an old playstation 2 that a family friend gave us when they moved overseas, via a second hand and totally illegal copy of FFX-2 (one of the only games that came with the hand-me-down shoebox of pirated goodies that worked), which I completed 3 times. Unfortunately, having gone to an all girls high school that taught cooking instead of coding, I never got much further than that until much later on, with my first playthrough of Mass Effect saving my sanity once again at around 17 or so, when I was invited to a guy friends house. I don't think he was planning for a 3 day mass effect marathon when he invited me over while his folks were away, during which time I probably spoke to him twice when I emerged from the room to eat...thinking back on it, he was a pretty good sport.

By that time, I'd gotten fairly good at drawing, something not uncommon in only children, but I had no idea that game development and programming was a viable career path. So I went after the closest thing (I thought)...A degree in Fine Arts that promised digital animation in the fifth year...which was a big mistake. One wasted year of pretentious thumb sucking later, I decided to leave the nest and moved to a different province by myself to study Animation at a school that nobody I knew had ever heard of, and there I learned digital painting and the existence of the games industry, and the wonderful and terrible internet, and I've been trying to figure out what to do with myself ever since.

In the 5 years since graduating, I've worked on both 2D and 3D animation, advertising, book covers, game trailers, and games in Unity, as well as casino games and other miscellaneous projects, but I'm always drawn back to games. I guess I'm looking for a project that I want to dedicate my time and efforts on...hope it works out.

hey there! my name is Lucas, 18 yo, I'm a programmer from Brazil trying to do by myself an action RPG based in the inspiration of some books that I've reading... hope I can do the right thing here helping or... being helped? I'm trying to make more contacts (currently: 0) interested on game dev to discuss and help me with some feedback. Also, I'm planning to reach a fanbase when my game grow (in progress, I mean) ... Uhh... Sometimes I post on my personal twitter (https://twitter.com/whosslucas) some of my progress. I think that is it... Actually I have the plot, backstory and I'm making the mechanics and some concept arts. Bye =]

Hello everyone! I've been posting on my DevLog here for a little while now when I saw this thread and realized that I hadn't properly introduced myself yet, how rude! So I decided to take the time to properly remedy the situation.

My name is James and I'm a 33 year old self taught programmer from USA. I've been a gamer obsessed with computers all my life but somehow the passions never coincided until I got older. Every job I've ever had I've hated so much I simply had to quit. Finally a few years ago I took an online cs101 class with python and I was hooked on programming. Before even getting halfway through the class I was spending countless hours glued to my computer tinkering with pygame making my own creations. I was hooked on making games as a way of developing my programming. Eventually I was simply hooked on making games.

Of course as a solo indie developer I can't just be a programmer as much as I may want to at times. So I try to fill other roles with varying degrees of success. I love learning and I often snatch up Udemy courses whenever there's a sale to help round out my skillset. But of course who can find time to do it all? We do what we can I suppose.

Right, I'm almost certain that nobody ever read this, but it's obligatory and I respect rules, so, there you go.

I'm a French bureaucrat. I'm old enough to remember why "Dune 2" is labelled with the number "2" and why it's weird. I make games in my free time, but I'm horribly perfectionnist so that the plural at "games" is hardly justified. I am the proud father of Reting Rimpoche's Dating Sim, and I'm currently trying to create some sort of adventure-RPG thingie set in the real world, the process of which can be seen here.

And I'm also incredibly funny, but only in French.

Hello! Wink

My name is Kelly Przybylski, and I work with my husband Ross at our indie studio in Utah, D20Studios. We're developing our 2nd game - Summoners Fate - and I help out with the marketing. I'll be sharing daily updates on progress of our game and asking for feedback. We really want this game to be community driven - we like to get input and let players help us drive development.

I look forward to talking with members of TIGSource! Grin

I've been playing games since the 80s and very recently returned to making them.

I've been working on my latest game for a wee while, during which time I read Derek Yu's Spelunky book. He made this place sound great, so I thought I'd say hello and see if I could get some feedback on my game.
