Hello,
I'm very much excited to start my game development journey after being an avid videogamer all my life. To be honest, there was a point in my life where I thought I was too old for playing videogames, but after playing ten minutes of Bloodborne; changed everything. The soulsborne series rekindled my love for this medium. From then on, it was another rollercoaster ride that's still going and hopefully one which never ends.
I am now passionate about games more than ever. Indie-developers keep this industry interesting and push the boundaries of storytelling in videogames. Games like Undertale, Stardew Valley, Return of the Obra Dinn, RCT, taught me that you don't need a full-fledged team to make games, just finding joy and fun in making and playing games.
I lose interest in stuff pretty quickly. Had a bunch of ideas for my first videogame, but dislike the ideas the next day. I have a lot of admiration for indie game devs, not only for their skill and talent, but their determination, commitment and perseverance. That's highly commendable too, and in my opinion, it's a much harder value to have than technical/artistic skills. So, I decided that if an idea sticks for a atleast two days, then I would definitely develop it. No backing of... This has not happened yet. I am definitely in love with the idea of making games (all aspects of it), but not sure how this will translate to real life.
Coming back to my first paragraph, I have been playing videogames all my life and it's only fair that I make atleast one game. I have a little bit of knowledge in art, music and programming so it would be a very fun, exciting, and tense journey nevertheless.
After all, its the journey which offers more than the destination.
Cheers

Hello my friends! My name Jason. I am 24 years old and started game developing three years ago. I did not much except a lot of unfinished projects and a couple of game jams. Now is the first time that I am working on a bigger project and it actually is starting to work out and I might even have a finished game in the end. I hope to have some good talks here in that Forum! Here is my itch.io: https://yapsinho.itch.io/

Hi! I go by the tag Volcanolord (Usually shortened to Volc). The name was originally used on my minecraft account but hey, it stuck. I'm relatively new to making games having only started my first major project around 3 years ago with a lot of small game ideas I created that never got very far before that. The thing I enjoy most about the devlopment process is probably modelling environments (And hopefully soon modelling characters, too) as I love the feeling of starting with a blank canvas and seeing the world come to life. Ever since I was a kid I was always creating new game ideas and drawing designs for new areas of the games i'd played. For example, I played Warcraft 3 a lot as a kid and liked to think about and draw up what the insides of the buildings would look like! Anyway, I hope to have some good times here and meet some interesting people.

Hello! I've lurked here on and off for a few years and finally signed up. I've been developing games as a hobbyist since I was 13, starting with RPG Maker, moving up to DarkBASIC and finally to Unity, which I'm using to this day. I didn't play a lot of games growing up so making my own was a way to increase the games that I had! I'm releasing a shooter game on Android soon, and it will be the first game I've released in a semi-professional capacity. I'm really excited about it. Looking forward to being a part of this community!

Hello all, my name is Mark Masse. Starting in 1997, I spent most of my career as a Software Engineer working on web service architecture at Disney and ESPN. More recently, I worked at Riot Games as an Initiative Engineering Manager for five years, where I supported a variety of teams (also mostly web services-related) until I was given the opportunity to work directly on League of Legends. As an individual contributor Software Engineer, I was part of the small team that launched the Teamfight Tactics game mode and I learned immensely from my amazing teammates and that incredible experience. In 2019, I left Riot to pursue my lifelong dream of making “my own” games, and I am now the founder (and currently solo dev) at Purple Island. My first game is a single-player card/puzzle game called Poker Squadrons: Battle of Britain and is set to release for PC and Mac on Steam on April 13th, 2021. I have a website here: https://www.purpleisland.comI hope to continue to make games and I am thankful to have the opportunity here to share and learn with others along the way.

Hi guys! It's a pleasure to introduce ourselves in this forum. We're a group of game dev students that have just created a little studio based in Madrid, Spain. Our group is formed by four passionate developers excited about our first big project! All of us are game desig students and each of us is specialized in a different area, but are keen to help the team in everything that is needed. We hope you like our project and future projects and we look forward to your feedback! Thanks!

Have been laying dormant for some time occupied with work and other stuffs and I guess maybe this time I will just go back into game dev. My old pages and posts are all gone... but I have setup something new. Come take a look see at https://spilocke.itch.io/Planning to make more games and contribute back to the game dev society! I am a new Indie game developer or at least an aspiring one. I always wanted to get into game development. When I was in high school my math teacher told me to get a Computing Science degree, so I did. Now, I enjoy using the Unreal Engine to try and make some games. I am also interested in collaborating with others to make games, so hopefully this turns into something great.

Hello everyone! My name is Cesar, co-founder of the newly formed indie developer Tezcatek. We are currently working on our debut game, Carpathian Night! Our Steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1445740/Carpathian_Night/We have been working on this game for a few years now as a side project but this is the year we are going to try to get the game funded and completed. I've always dreamed of making and releasing my own game, and we are inching towards that goal every day! Best luck to all the other indie devs posting here.

Hello! I'm working in the (pretty small) Indie Game Studio based in Poland. Our first survival production will be available on Steam in July / August 2021. I'm still not sure if devlog here is a good idea, but thought I'd say Hi! first.

I'm an indie game developer who has gone it alone since 2015 for making the game "Birdie's dream". It is a very dangerous and miserable work for the living. As a programmer, artist, animator, music composer, I thought that I am a good fit for making the game. However, it was a big misunderstanding. Making a good game is actually much more than that. I'm still struggling even after 5 years of continuous working on the game. And on top of this, without a proper marketing, a game can not be sold properly: it is nightmare to make a good game. And what is good is very relative. Sungwook Kim Twitter: https://twitter.com/SungwookKimRealSungW.net email: [email protected]

Hi Everyone, My name’s Jon and I’m a hobby game developer. Development is squeezed in between the day job (product management in a large multinational completely unconnected to gaming) and family. Given the limited time available progress is at best ‘steady’ especially as I insist on building everything from ground up … why use Unreal, Unity or whatever if you can build your own games engine from scratch? Despite these masochistic tendencies I’m making nice progress on my most recent project … what this space (actually what a completely different space on the DevLog forum as soon as I get organised! )
