Hi, I am MiniStumpy, a Czech autistic guy with Tourette's and ADHD, who likes creating pieces of music (it's the hobby that gets the most attention from me), and programming! That's including game dev.

What got me into video games was the fact, that I had access to the computer from a very young age. I got into Portal, when I was around 8 years old. I should also mention, that as a young kid in the early 2010s, I wanted to play Minecraft real bad. And I did!

Now, my hobbies are music, and programming, as stated above. I have one big, ambitious project, that I realize I might never finish, in the works. It's a game called Freedom of Life, and I have a dedicated YouTube channel for it, and a not-yet published itch.io page for the game.

It's gonna be a 2D Top-Down factory / automation game made in the Godot game engine, that is inspired a lot by other games, like Factorio, Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and also a Minecraft modpack called "Nomifactory".

Here are the links to my stuff:
Main YouTube channel (mainly music): https://www.youtube.com/@MiniStumpy/featured
FoL Youtube Channel (the game I am developing): https://www.youtube.com/@FreedomofLifeMS
My itch.io page (There's nothing there yet, but trust me, there will be): https://ministumpy.itch.io

Hi friends, my name is tapir.
I'm a backend developer by trade, but realized that I want to make games. I made a couple bad ones for game jams and am now working on the first game I will sell on steam, which is called ULTRAMASSIVE. It's in its pre-alpha stages and still needs a ton of work. I do have a steam page for it which I mainly created so I have access to Steam Playtest. I want to make it as easy as possible for people to playtest the game. I want to collect feedback as early as possible.

I'm probably going to create a devlog here, but am mostly looking for people who would be interested to test my game or  to collaborate in terms of cross-playtesting (I play your games, you play mine). If you want to get in touch, the best place is probably here or mastodon.

Nice to meet you,
tapir

Hello everyone!!  Beer!

I'm Paolo, 47, Italy, retro gamer and indie developer.

Afaik the first videogame I met in my life was Aztec Challenge for the Commodore 64 at friend's home, I was like 6 or 7, in the same period my parents occasionally used to take me to the arcades where I met games like Rampage or Contra while they were just released.
One episode I particularly remember happened at elementary school once my very rich schoolmate (he really seemed the kid from Silver Spoons TV series) invited me at his home to play his new Atari 2600 (the best console around in these years), hence I had the honor to play games like Pitfall!, Yar's Revenge but most of all Adventure without knowing yet that these games were about to become timeless classics. They looked just amazing to my eyes, however.

My first home computer was a very obscure french machine and my first home console was the epic Atari 2600, but nowadays I own a wide range of 8 and 16 bit machines in my room.
While growing up by playing games and coding with my home machines, at first I became an IT developer, since there was no real game industry in my country at time. I quitted that job like 10 years ago and became a full-time indie developer. I like to work mostly on personal or small team projects, hence I split my time between being a freelancer for the gaming industry and working on personal projects with my tiny team. I work mostly with Unity, but so far I coded stuff in many languages from ASM 6809 to C++.

I was looking for places to share my same passion, hence nice to meet you all  Toast Left

Hello, I'm Wardence_, an indie game developer who makes games with java.
I have one complete game that you can play on my website The Bagel (it's made in javascript).

I've been making games for about half a year now and am exited to know more about game development.
Some of my favorite games include Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, Terraria, Half-Life 2, and Quake 3.

I can't wait to be involved with this community and share things to do with the games I make!

Hey everyone! I'm Makira. Cheesed to meet you!

I have a non-official game development studio called Retroactive Fort consisting of me and a partner I work with.
We make indie games from different genres, ranging from RPG to casual and horror.

As of right now, three of my creations have made it onto steam and another one is currently in the works.
Used to create and publish games as a hobby, but I'm doing it more seriously now.

Hello, everyone

I hope you're all having a great day. I wanted to introduce myself to this community. My name is James, and by profession, I'm a doctor in internal medicine and preventive medicine. You might wonder, what I'm doing on this forum.

Firstly, I'm a gamer at heart, having spent countless hours on my PS2/PS3 and later PC. Recently I've been very active in COD: warzone and the Total War Series. In addition to gaming for entertainment, I feel that video games have the potential to be therapeutic as well.

So, here I am, on a quest to merge my interests in gaming and in healthcare. I'm currently exploring and developing a mobile game with my team with the aim of improving overall mental wellness and health. As we continue to develop I would love feedback on whether or not the game and its concept would seem interesting to the players on this forum.

Warm regards,
James

Hi
I'm Oaklin, and I'm experimenting with game development for the first time. It's something I've always wanted to do, but it never made financial sense to actually jump into. Professionally, I have been in software development and project management for decades. Privately, I spent most of my leisure time on video games.
I finally started working on my game part time about 6 months ago. A large factor was my steadily strengthening impression that resources have never been more available to independent developers than now, and it's becoming more true than ever. I've also learnt a lot about domains I previously had near-zero experience in - 2D and 3D art, game-specific UI design, sound effects, game balance testing, video editing, marketing (basically everything besides programming).
I just put my game up on Steam Playtest a few days ago and am tackling the latest in a long series of challenges - getting actual playtest feedback.
I will separately post a summarized devlog and a call for playtesters.

Hope to engage you all.

Hello everyone!

I'm thrilled to join this community of passionate independent game developers. You can just call me Grant, my passion for videogames began pretty much since I have memory. I've always dreamed of creating my own worlds and interactive experiences for others to explore and enjoy, and I'm also here to learn, collaborate, and share ideas with all of you. I'm eager to dive into this exciting journey alongside this amazing community of game creators!

I'm gonna be sharing the games that my team and I are working on. We collaborate under the name of "Stampede Interactive".

We are currently developing two games, and I can't wait to share them with you and receive your feedback.
