hello I'm a artist doodler who loves to find humor and fun in any scenario.
my grammar and spelling is may be a tad off due to a C average in English, but the use of spell checkers seem to help even it out most of the time. argh?

Hello, I'm Robert, I've already been posting around here, but thought I better introduce myself correctly; I plan on posting on the Announcements thread soon.  Gentleman

I've been in the industry for 8 years now, working in studios and such as an animator. Have also done some level design and building, asset creation.... blah blah.

first started 'Playing' with programming when the C64's first came out, was crap at it and went the art creation route for a long while. Had a lot of different jobs before coming into the game industry.
Working for 'commercial' studios has put the fire in my belly to go independent. I've been freelancing for a little more than a year now, and trying my hardest to become a full time indie dev, learning Python, a little C++, and using MMF2 for the moment.

I'm 34, have 2 daughters, and can't drink anywhere near as much as I used to.

Hello, my name is Juan Andrés (that's spanish) and I live in the jungles of Uruguay, South America (ok, actually there aren't any jungles here). I've been a lurker for some months now and decided to finally register.
I'm a programmer (check avatar for great programmer art!) and have worked on tiny stupid games when not trying to become a computer engineer.
Currently I'm working on a point-and-click adventure game using python+pygame and hopefully I might enter it into an anual videogame contest that's being held here for the past 4 or years or so.

That's all for now I guess.

Hey hey hey!
I'm Linde, and I mostly deal with music and sound design, but I also have a strong interest in game design and programming in general, especially for old computer hardware (more specifically, I'm digging into the Commodore 64 hardware right now, trying to make a simple platform game).

I play a bunch of games, but maybe not as much as I would like to. Right now I'm spending my game time playing Zenith, a freeware clone of The Sentinel.

I joined up mostly to be able to comment projects I find interesting, but also maybe to manage a little dev. log.

Hey, I'm Jarnik. I'm 25 years old wannabe game developer living in Prague.

I was first introduced to gaming via Atari 130XE on which I took my first steps as a programmer. I've been fascinated with games since then and constantly trying to make some by myself.

My favorite games are Half-life series, Okami and Lucas Arts adventure classics. From indies it would be Braid and Daniel Benmergui's works.

Recently, I participated in my first compo (Ludum Dare) and it was an awesome experience. Indie gamedev community seems to be the crazy bunch of people I was just looking for Smiley

Hello all,

I'm Marie (but tigershungry  Tiger across most of cyberspace). I currently work for Screen WM in the UK in their innovation (read: games and computery stuff) dept. Although we don't make games we help support those who do (so if you're in the UK and especially the West Mids please get in touch)

The first game I fell in love with was Zelda a link to the past, and also have fond memories of staying up to the early hours helping my dad mission it through.

I'm currently realising how much GCSE maths I can't do with Professor Layton.

I also have a lot love for indie and arty games especially those so abstract that spectators can't actually decipher what the heck you're doing (I'm looking at you Eliss and DigiDrive)

Hello all!

Name's Almost. Pleased to meet you. (Isn't it weird how different that would be without the middle period?)

I'm still pretty new to game making, though I already love doing it. So far everything I've made has been created as a hobby, and very few of my works have been uploaded to the internets. The only significantly complete game I have on the itnernet is one that I created for the recent LudumDare competition. I have a thread about it here

I'm pretty good at art, but generally fail to make good art for my game anyways.. I can draw a pretty picture, but animating a character is too time consuming to entertain me. (writing code to make the character run is entertaining enough to be worth the time it takes)

Portal has got to be one of my favorite games ever. I find myself enjoying platformers and puzzle games. Strategy is also a huge plus.

Hello everyone.

I'm rayk (pretty much everywhere on the net). I'm an environment concept artist, but I really love pixel art and 2D games because they are so beautiful and full of life. I'm mainly here to lurk and look at the cool stuff you guys come up with.

I love cave story and am really looking forward to Fez!  Cave Story

Hello people, great to be here!

I'm Andreas, from Sweden and 25 years young. I have been programming in various languages since I laid my hand on my own PC-keyboard, which was when I was 14. I love games and programming so much that I have studied 3 years of game programming (or as I'd put it, programming with an aim at game technology) at Blekinge Institute of Technology, but for now I'm done with that, studying. Time to create some games. I don't have any game put up on the net, except some screenies. (Maybe I should put up that 24-hour game I made for a compo). But I was lead programmer for two projects at the uni together with other students in my class, which can be seen at Quantum Game Studios.

I have been posting a little here before, I'm not much of a forum posting guy, I mostly read posts. But I'm trying to get better!
The main reason I'm here is to get into the community of indie games and stop living in my own little bubble. :D

Hello everyone  Gentleman

I have been playing games on consoles since the Atari 2600 Hand Joystick . My first computer was a Thomson TO8D then i got a PC in 1995.
I used to have fun playing with loops on a groovebox and various other machines, then switched to 3D modeling then got back to my first love video games.  Kiss

My favorite game genre is the platformer. I also really enjoy shmups and rpgs.
I'm very fond of retro gaming and it feels great to be a member here.
The games i enjoy the most playing are (in no particular order):

- Mario series
- Jacky Chan
- PC kid
- Wonder Boy
- Zero wing
- Legend of hero tonma
- Zero Gunner 2
- CastleVania
- Metroid
- Zelda series
- Kirby
- RType
- Final Fantasy 3
- Cave Story
- Axelay
- Gomola speed
- ...

To name a few.

My favorite game system of all times is the NEC coregrafx (No other consoles have been so great so far !)

I started programming in blitzmax when it was released.
That's it for now Smiley

I love the coregrafx! I have a coregrafx II but the first one is way cuter.

Which reminds me; I need to get a new power supply for mine. Way too many days without Nectaris!

Good day, gentlemen.

I'm not actually new here, but it feels so tempting to make an introductory post.

As for a little about myself, I'm currently in my final year (hopefully) in high school, hoping to get into some university programs. I'm looking forward in the field of computer programming and general designing. I do artsy things from time to time, but haven't got any time lately because of school (blegh). I guess that's all I got for now.

So, what's up TIGers?

I have managed to keep mine too and i did change the power supply and the fuse, you should be able to find one without any trouble. Too bad some of my hucards are not working anymore  Cry
Never heard about Nectaris before (looks like a good turn based strategy game)
Glad to know there are still people who share the same passion for the best console ever !

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking in this forum for a while and decided that now it's the time to briefly introduce myself.

I'm Jere from Finland and I'm currently struggling to make my first finished game. I have something in the works and I have a positive feeling that I might be able to finish it. I might put up a devlog in the near future to boost up the development.

In the daytime I work as a software designer in a fairly large international company. When I get home I try to act like an indie game developer.

Introduction:
Hi, I am Chang You,Wong ,22 this year from the small country Singapore over in South-East Asia. I'm completely new here. I've only recently started checking out all the indie gaming website which brought me over to TigSource.

Currently I am a Sophomore student in DigiPen Singapore undertaking Bachelor of Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation, in short, game/software programming.(In case you only heard of Digipen over in US, I am a student for the pioneer batch over in Singapore campus).

Reason for wanting to do games?
Nothing else catch my interest.. Prior to my education in Digipen, I spent all of my previous years in class not motivated and totally uninterested, no matter how hard i tried.. However, everything else started to get straight back on track after I decided to head towards the game industry.

Experience:
Well I thought I could share some of my little experience as of now with making games..
1)After my freshman year I spent my summer over at MIT at the GAMBIT research game lab, an initiative between Singapore and MIT. And was 1 of the programmer for the game Waker and Woosh, or technically they are just 1 game.. http://gambit.mit.edu/waker http://gambit.mit.edu/woosh ..Think the website will be down for this weekend.. Sad
2)Had the chance to programme 2 game with a team during my freshman year in Digipen, a puzzle-styled game using school C++ engine and an ascii/text-based game using C++.
3)Given the opportunity to work as a QA tester for 2 of the Star Wars DS games, for their 2 released games! I was so lucky to be given the opportunity!
4)2 years back then while i was serving my National Service(2 years conscript army), after deciding that I want to make game for a living , I learnt to use Darkbasic from a course and made a full 3D RPG game using this engine.

Interest in Games:
I am totally drawn into games for as long as I can remember! For PC..Civilization,Master of Magic, for console...Street Fighter,Double Dragon..etc.. These are games i thoroughly enjoyed when I was a child!
The 3 games that i love most are Suikoden 2, Grandia and Metal Gear Solid.. I got to take a pick.. and that would be Suikoden 2

Suikoden 2 is just pure fun.. I totally love standard RPG, and love the tactics major battle part.. and also a castle of my own! How cool is it, having a castle of your own, and watching it expand, as well as having various things I am able to do within my own castle!

I think that Suikoden have been doing great since Suikoden 1! The only letdown of Suikoden is probably only Suikoden 4.. Though i still love them all, as all the plots are connected.. A hardcore Suikoden fan such as myself must play them all! Though sadly I do not own the gba card stories and the suikogaiden which was only released in Japan..

I really should get myself a portfolio website soon.. Well at least I am on linked-in.. www.linkedin.com/pub/chang-you-wong/9/37/130 ..

Oops.. I think I might have overdo the self-introduction part.. Thats all!  Smiley

Hello!

I don't really know how to introduce myself, so I always skip this part and just start talking… But since this is obligatory thread, um. My name is Martin, I'm 25 and I live in Warsaw, Poland. I found tigsource because I love games with pixel arts, and seems like indie developers love them too. I haven't done anything myself yet (I quit too fast). When I'm out of work I play a lot. My last games were Spelunky (like 500 plays and still 0 wins), Skullpogo (I wish it wasn't written in game maker, so I could play it under linux) and Dwarf Fortress (world generator is awesome). I used to be MMO addict, I've lost few years due to Ragnarok Online. I also used to draw ASCII-Arts. Currently I'm playing with pixels (without success, it's hard to draw anything big enough and nice) and I take a lot of photos.

Some of my favourite games:

And a herring:

So… Hello!

Hello TIGSource. My name is Martin, but you can call me Zugz. It's shorter,
and has better consonants. Like I suppose many around here, I've been a fan of
old-style games since they were new-style, and I often think it would be neat
to add to their number. Unlike many around here, not much tends to come of
these thoughts.

I'm a long-time fan of interactive fiction. I also appreciate roguelikes from
a distance, but prefer not to get too close lest they swallow any more of my
days. I was quite into Megazeux back in the day. I'm not *entirely* averse to
graphics, but am averse to flashiness for the sake of flashiness. I consider
the third dimension to be over-rated. I believe in the GPL, in portability,
and in supporting "out-dated" machines.

I think that's all you need to know.
