Greetings all!

I’m Dave, founder of Iron Ninja Games (ironninja.com). We’re a team of three, one developer (me) and two in-and-out artists.

Our first title has shipped a couple months ago on iOS, Beaver Smash . We’re shipping it for Android as well pretty soon.

Master Plan: I’m planning to get more active here for the early showcasing and testing of our upcoming title, which is a multiplayer strategy game. The game has each player plan three moves in advance every turn, then executes all the moves in sequence at the same time.

Favorite Games: Goldeneye, Grand Theft Auto 4 (multiplayer), Street Fighter II, M.U.L.E., Archon, Military Madness, Mail Order Monsters, Black Tiger (extra points if you know/played that one!)

Hello, world!

I've been playing video games constantly since I was a kid and got my SNES for Christmas. I mostly play RPGs and some Grand Strategy games, with the occasional Action game thrown in. I'd say my twitch reflexes are too poor to really enjoy the FPS or RTS genres, at least in a competitive environment. I'm studying Computer Networking Systems in school, and as a bit of a hobbyist, I've recently joined our Game Development Club. I've read some of the devlogs on here and figured starting my own would be a good way to keep myself accountable.

My username is a truncation of Cyrano de Bergerac, one of my favorite plays, that also conveniently references the concept of a Node in computer networking.

Even though I've been playing games for years, part of me is a little sick of just constantly consuming media. I've got a deep-seated need to create that doesn't frequently get tapped these days. It needs more structure to grow than I've given it. I've got more ideas than experience in programming, but no one is going to turn them into games if I don't!

Hello all!

We are HyperBerry Games, a very small indie game development company (only 7 people) and we love making indie games. We are located in Barcelona, Spain, although we all come originally from Venezuela ( si, hablamos español! ).

We love experimental and uncommon games, specially anything that breaks the status quo, and although we enjoy the amazing hyper-realistic graphics that technology nowadays can bring us, we usually develop more towards a more artistic and slightly cartoonish style on our games.

Also, we love to collaborate, all of us are involved in other projects aside from HyperBerry Games, the game development community in barcelona is super friendly to one another, and we lend a hand to anyone whenever we can, so dont be shy to contact us to [email protected] if you wish to do a skill exchange or anything of the sort!

Here´s a bit more on every one of us individually:

ADOX

(A.K.A ADOLFO J. OVIEDO)

3D Art, Graphic Design, UI and UX design, Publicity, Marketing, Public Speaking, LNVGPFH (Late Night Videogame Playing For Hours). these are just a few of the very different weapons the feral “Adox” has wielded on his journey towards the videogame industry, always accompanied by an epic videogame soundtrack, his favorite music genre. Oh and he really likes honey roasted peanuts.

Hello Friends!

I'm Risto and I run The Great Forest Studio. I love telling stories, making beautiful music and creating atmospheres. I want to make games that amaze and delight, and ultimately inspire the player to have a better life. I'm satisfied if my players beam with joy while playing, and then put the game away, run out of the house, and beam with joy or amazement at everyhing they encounter.

I've always loved nature and I spend as much time as I can outdoors. I'm remembering what it is like to be an animal, a male and a man, cleaning off the layers of social conditioning that cover and obscure my deepest essence. Starting my own company and making exactly the kind of games I want, with no extraneous "managers" getting a word in, is a grand step in that process! As is travelling the world alone, meditation, tough physical exercise (working towards one-arm pushups now...) and in general, taking responsibility for myself and learning to always have an open heart.

I'm a vegan and I adore healthy food. Growing it, cooking it, touching it, eating it, sharing it with others. Every fiber of my body is made from the amazing things I eat. This delicious chickpea burger becomes my thighbone, or my back muscle. This blueberry will be part of my eye. This olive oil, which I eat and drink plentifully and often, is what my brain is made of. I love inspiring people with my body and health, as much as with my creativity and love!

I read and listen to books, articles and webinars constantly, and phase and rotate through various hobbies. I never watch the news; the real and important stuff always reaches me through connections with people. I'm especially fascinated by:
- Neuroplasticity (Your capability to shape your brain, your thought and habit patterns and ultimately your personality and reality through conscious action)
- Health (Good bacteria in your gut will evolve so much during your lifetime that at the end, they resemble the ones that you got at birth as much as we resemble our shared ancestors with chimpanzees, and these bacteria are central to your immune function, your mood hormone serotonin production, your digestion and even the epigenetic programming of your genes)
- Music (I've played the Armenian blul flute for several years and I feel that I'm only barely touching the full capability for modulation, expressing moods and adding tiny speech-like flourishes and details. It's going to be an amazing lifetime playing this flute, and I'm so grateful for it!)
- Cooking (The spices! The colours and aromas! Medieval cubeb peppers and grains of paradise... Vietnamese bún riêu... blooming garlic and chillies in abundant oil and having the whole house gather around... Eating bitter fruit in the jungle with native tribes... cooking on an open fire in a forest, in a storm.)

That's me!

My first game is The Great Underground. It's a classic mining game and I did my very best to fill it with beautiful graphics, lovely music, hearty story and little delightful flourishes. It's free to play (with more content upon purchasing the full version)! I love this game!

Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to having lots of fun with you!

Hey everyone my names DrDread (no I'm not really a doctor). I AM a professional .NET and SQL Database developer, I am also a big nerd and into playing and making games just like all of you!

I used to run a popular Hall of Fame awarded persistent world for Neverwinter Nights back in the 2000s called World of Torr. Spent years working on that and had a lot of fun with it. The player base liked it so much they took over the servers when I finally moved on and made their own community site for it.

Some of my favorite games lately have been Dark Souls and Helldivers but I do play league of Legends just about every single day. I have a lovely wife who LOOKS GOOD is an IT manager and PLAYS MORE VIDEO GAMES THAN I DO!

I've had an idea for a game that's something like Astro Empires or OGame for along time that's called http://www.baronsofthegalaxy.com/ and that's what I've been working on lately and what has brought me to the Indie gaming scene. So far this community has been great and my game dev journey will be a lot of fun whether I'm successful or not.  Tongue

Hi everyone, I'm Zoop!

I have been running ZoopTEK longer than some of you have been alive, which is crazy to think!

Way back in the stone age, also known as 1999, I released a multiplayer game called Paint Ball 3 EXTREME for free onto a GeoCities website.  Despite it being the dial-up modem days, the game exploded in popularity, with well over 80,000 downloads.  I even ran a forum similar to TigSource to support the community.  It was one of the coolest experiences ever in my life.  In a lot of ways, I was doing the indie thing before "indie gaming" was an industry term!

Now, I've grown up, and my games have with it.  I have released a brutally tough single player game on Steam called Coniclysm, a massively online world domination game, got a silly game about cats played by PewDiePie, gained a crazy amount of experience, and made plenty of mistakes.  Oh, and I also taught game programming for seven years.  Whew!  If you want to learn from my mistakes or hear old man stories, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm here to get critique on our next game, a multiplayer physics-based beat-em-up titled Knight Light, which I will be releasing onto the Playtest forum here quite soon!

Best of luck all!

Hello
I'm Beyond, also known as Calle (Swedish nickname). I'm actually more of a composer of video game music but registered here because I've just got an interest in programming. More accurately programming enemies or other characters that you interact with in games. I would like them to be as alive as possible! Artificial Intelligence I think it's called. I've looked into programming and JavaScript or C#/C++ seems to be good starting points. The reason I'm already introducing myself here is because I would like to have a little help if possible. Like what language to learn etc. In time I think it would be a good idea to start getting involved in simple games to practice my skills.

Okay, that's all I wanna say now I hope someone will reply in some way, either here or via PM.

Oh, almost forgot: https://soundcloud.com/beyond-26

Cheers

Edit: I will probably just focus on music

EDIT: I have actually started to program! Learning C

Hello people,

I am a UK based composer based in Cardiff. Music has always been the biggest passion in my life, closely followed by gaming (which I am sure has influenced the music I write).

I got into games (like many people) from an early age after my Dad bought an Atari ST for my 6th birthday! Since then I have had the honor of witnessing the evolution of gaming from the early 90s to the exciting and diverse art form we see today.

I love the idea of indie games and the possible freedom to create and collaborate on projects that have true artistic merit and a clear message (this is something that is so often lost in AAA titles due to things like commercial viability).

I am classically trained in composition and orchestration however, over the past year I have been working more to create Synthwave music, inspired by games such as Hotline Miami and Blood Dragon.

Here are some examples of my work:

Hey guys,

long time lover of flash games here, been visiting newgrounds for 10+ years and thats where it all started for me. Up until now i never released a game myself. Though i have several projects in different stages of completion. Been fiddling with flash, c++/opengl, love2d, lwjgl, and lately with html5/javascript for multiplayer browser games. Thats also how i did my latest project, a browser puzzle-game with a strong community aspect (hotpins.io). I'll post about it in the feedback forum since it's in early alpha.

I've been working as a sound-designer and app-developer for 4 years now (making music for 10+). My passion lies pretty much in between making music and making games.
I hope to find someone to give me feedback and I can bring my experience to the board in return.

See you later

Hey guys, fellow indie dev from the Netherlands here! Been working on a first, big video game over the past few years and we're officially releasing version 1.0 today, will add a post on that later today. I've been following TIGSource and the forums for quite some time now to get inspiration and motivation. You're an awesome community and hopefully I (and team members) will be able to share a lot of fun and knowledge with you from here on.

My name is Maureen, I'm a native French speaker who just finished a Master's degree in English translation, literature and civilization and I want to become a professional translator, in the gaming industry preferably. Hello everyone!

My name is Joeb, I run a freelance business (by the name of my username) doing graphic design and web development. I'm 18 years old and I live in the UK!

My big passion is game development, I love to program and having been playing games since I was born, there wasn't really anything else I could possibly dream of doing.

I'm currently a student at Birmingham studying game development, so I thought it would be a good idea to socialise and share some devlogs of my progress throughout assignments and of my personal projects.

My favourite game genre has to be RPG, but I also love anything with a fantasy or adventure theme. My favourite game of all time (not really a game, but couldn't pick just one) is anything from the Zelda series! I'm also a big fan of World of Warcraft and Cave Story! Honourable mention to FFX as well.

Not really sure what else I should say here, so yeah. I look forward to meeting fellow developers!

Hello everyone,

I'm Caroline and I'm the co-founder of a French studio: Cheese Burgames. We are a 3-people young studio created in 2014 are have released one game on mobile devices - Echoes: Deep-sea Exploration.

We are developping another game, more ambitious, Revery - Duel of Dreamers (3D turn-based strategy with figurines in the World of Dreams), that will be playable on desktop devices and then on tablets.

I'm not developper, illustrator nor game designer. I studied communications and, in Cheese Burgames studio, manage PR, localisation, tests and customer support. I also take part of the GD decisions but isn't THE game designer of the studio.

What else? I love cooking and eating (I think you'd understood it with the name of the company) and drinking tea (and a lot more, but food is my first love... and then, video games.

See you soon in the forums  Wink

And if you want to take a look at our work:
