Hi everyone! I'm Muir. I live in San Francisco and I run a small indie studio called Sky Tyrannosaur. I've been a programmer professionally for about a decade and as a hobbyist since I was a kid. I've been running SkyTy for about five years. I'm pumped to get to know everyone here!

Hi, everyone, I'm Sergey.

I have been reading this forum for a while (actually, pretty much ever since I discovered indiegames.com around 2008), but I haven't posted anything yet. I think that the time has come to do it :-)

I really like pretty, meaningful and story-rich games and strive to make them. I'm also into all kinds of weird games that turn things on their heads. I believe that playing and making these is what moves the whole industry forward.

Over the years, I have made a bunch of indie games. My first commercial one is a butterfly-based puzzler called Dédale, released in 2012 on mobile as well as PC/Mac. Then I worked on things like Paradis Perdus and Lune which were a bit more ambitious. Afterward, I was part of the Rime team at Tequila Works. You can check all of that out on my website/portfolio: http://sergeymohov.com.

There are also some game jam games and unfinished projects there, as well as a blog mostly filled with random scribbles and improvised tutorials (and also a rant about Hamilton for some reason).

Now I'm a co-founder at a Paris-based indie studio called Ocelot Society. We're working on our first project called Event[0]. It started off as a student project four years ago and got out of control :-)

I decided to join the forum because I saw some fascinating discussions that I really wanted to participate in. I look forward to exchanging opinions and knowledge with this community.

P.S. Maybe you've seen me on Twitter or Unity/Unreal forums, I'm @krides on both.

Hello. I develop games mostly for Android but I have just released my first Steam game and might develop more complex games in the future, so here I am. I will do some devlogs or postmortems probably. Smiley

Hi, my name is Alex, I'm from Siberia, gamer since 90-s, for all my life like to draw doodles and have a broken English. Currently learning pixel art and animation (mainly had only paper and scan/photoshop previous experience, and never seen result fitting for video games) with interest to participate in game creation, have almost no code skills (maybe a bits of lua at max) so little by little (with caution not to give promises that I wouldn't be able to keep) I'm looking for a people or project to cooperate with. Coffee

Here some noobish stuff I were doing (stage of learning by copying others, yeah >_<):

Hi! I'm rogual. I used to do Flash games, and I miss it. I've migrated to JS/Canvas for the smaller stuff (though it's not really as good) and C++/bgfx for big projects.

I don't know a huge amount about games, but I know what I like. I believe the best game that nobody's heard of is Dynamite Headdy for the Sega Mega Drive. Just look at it!

It oozes quality. Treasure would lovingly code and animate an object, then use it once in the entire game. That is luxury gaming. I aspire to make games like that.

I'm always happy to talk about engine design, optimizations, low-level stuff, tools, making level editors out of things that aren't meant to be level editors, graphics, and general coding.

Areas where I still need to improve a lot are music, polish, and that my games are usually pretty buggy.

See you around!

I would be surprised if there were no gathering at Paris, and if this is the case somebody should do something about it....

Switching back to English in case other people are reading us :-) In Paris, there's the Paris Dev Night, but it's more of a AAA thing, so you just run into Ubisoft people all the time. If enough people from TIG were interested, maybe we could figure out some kind of a contre-soirée ;-)

Also, I've just dug this thread from 2013 up: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=33721.0
And – what do you know? – their meet up seems to still be alive today: http://www.meetup.com/Paris-Game-Development-Meetup-Group/

Hello TIGSource friends,

I'm the sole developer for the game Super Console Kid. I post DevLog videos on YouTube, but I always come here for inspiration. As a lurker for years, I now decided to register so I can also contribute to the forum. I'm very excited to join you all.

Hi! My name is Jonas, I live in Sweden and I work as a game programming teacher for high schoolers. Yes, we have high school educations niched towards game development in Sweden - most people from abroad seem to find this peculiar. The game industry is very large in Sweden, when compared to the small number of people who live here - perhaps that's one of the reasons.

By night I'm an aspiring indie game developer. Working full-time and finding time to develop your own games is though, as most people on this forum probably know, but at the moment I'm managing to crank out about 30 hours a week or so. Come summer, I will naturally have a lot more time to dedicate for game development (being a teacher and all...), I can hardly wait!

My favorite games of all time includes (in no particular order):
  • Megaman X 1-5
  • Spelunky
  • All Souls games (including Demon's Souls)
  • FTL
  • Theme Hospital
  • Monstrum (if you're a fan of horror games as well as roguelike gameplay, you should really check this one out)
  • Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Alien vs. Predator (the 1999 FPS, developed by Rebellion Developments, without the later patch that allowed you to save during levels...)
  • Cave Story
  • Shovel Knight
  • Nuclear Throne
  • Diablo 1 (yes, only 1 - if you ask me, it all went down-hill from there...)

I'm probably forgetting a ton of good games. Nowadays I usually gravitate towards challenging gameplay, with permadeath and/or procedurally generated levels. Games like Nuclear Throne, Spelunky, FTL, Flame in the Flood, Don't Starve etc. is really my cup of tea. It's just something with the excitement that a tough challenge and permadeath brings, as well as the feeling that the game can create endless variations for you, that really floats my boat.

By the way, my user name means ant-eater in swedish. The word "myrslok" simply sounds funny (pronounced something like meeursloook), and the animal looks completely awesome!

Hi! I'm Tyrus Peace. I've been working on games in one way or another since... 1998, when I made diablo-likes ("Word vs Void RPG" and "Rebelcow RPG") in the Starcraft map editor.

Here's me walking my dog in Texas:

My parents bought me an NES because my kindergarten principal told them it would improve my eye-hand coordination. Thanks, bruh :').

My favorite games are Starcraft and Half-Life, because of how tight the player and modder communities were, and how being involved in those communities changed my life. It was kind of a golden age where anyone could make a little multiplayer game and actually have a decent player base thanks to battle.net lobbies and PlanetHalfLife.

During high school, from 2001-2003, I got into Quark and Milkshape 3D and ended up making levels for BuzzyBots. I wrote about that for a scholarship! I'm still not sure that was a good idea, but I'm proud to've done it and happy it worked.

I mostly just worked on art and level design until I went to college for a computer science degree. I tinkered around with odd mixes of open source rendering/physics/networking engines that I cobbled together until finding Unity. A couple years after that (2011) I got into game jams and now I actually make games!

I worked (happily) in the software industry from 2007-2015, and I've been working full time on Cloudbase Prime since September 2015. I live with my wife in Lubbock, Texas and know no one else that makes games. Sooo heeey how's it goin'?

Hey guys I'm Dro, extremely new to the Indie scene at large.

When I worked for Razer in Singapore as an eSports Specialist

In the real world I'm Ali and I am currently finishing my final year of schooling in the Midwest. I have been around video games for as long as I can remember, with my first game being Jazz Jackrabbit.

I currently have held myriad, jobs throughout the last 3 years with bouncing around eSports (competitive gaming) news sites, to working a QA contract at a AAA developer in the Midwest. I learned of TIG from one of my instructors, Jay Margalus (Lunar Giant) and he suggested I climb aboard the forum train and show off the games I'm currently developing and future projects.

My current projects are 2 fold: My senior thesis Squire, Knight, Princess and another one personal, a trans-media project Project Ascendance which the latter I'll be talking about more in the appropriate forum.

I play a ton of games, mainly competitive (played a lot of sports in my youth) with CSGO. I also am playing games wherever free-time arises, as I play any and all games. I don't tend to want to restrict myself, but if I had to pinpoint where my favorite genre would be I would say it would be RPGs of any form (some of my favorite games include: Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Icewind Dale I and II, Baldur's Gate, Diablo II).

I'm excited to showoff my current projects and connect with the Independent Development community at large!

So, how u doin?
