Hi All,

My name is Alex. I'm a game developer. Unfortunately, it is just my hobby so I cannot work in it full-time.
But still, I have a passion for games and very deep development skills as well as game engine knowledge.
Currently, I'm using Unity + C#. But I'm also familiar with UE4 with C++.

Sometimes I even like to go deeper, for example, recently I've started building small demos in pure Vulkan.

I'm not so good in painting, modeling or sound creation, but I have a will to learn these areas as well.
For example, for my last game, I was obliged to learn Blender and it was very interesting by the way.
And I'm always trying to do something new by myself but not just grabbing it somewhere over the internet.

Hope to find new friend here!

Regards,
ICE

Hi guys!

I'm Anna. I'm a programmer at 2Scars Games and I adore computer games.
My favorite ganes are Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, 7 Days to Die. I also like strategies like Stronghold (the first one) and Tropico 5. Not very long time ago I discovered that Fallout 1st and 2nd are just amazing. Really, guys, they are. As for me they are even much better then 3d part and New Vegas (it's just my opinion, don't be mad, please). I like coop games and I feel a lack of them now. So I thing I must work hard to fix this situation Smiley
Some boring stuff about me.
I had been working in game development industry for more than 5 years as a programmer before we (me and my husband) decided to make our own studio. We have released our first mobile game few months ago and we are still trying to please our users with new updates. We also work on different PC games in cooperation with other studios and we have recently started our own new PC game (I'll tell you more when we have something "tasty" about it).

I'll be happy to find new friends here Beer!

G'Day,

My name is Aaron and I would like to introduce myself.

I have been developing software for almost 35 years.  I have always taken an interest in game development as it quite often gives insights into where computer technology is heading.  The first computer I owned was a Sinclair ZX81 and the first game I wrote was a brickout style clone all in 1Kb.

My next computer was a Vic20  with revolutionary color.  I still have the computer in It's original box.  The marketing spiel was Vic20 for entertainment, education, science and, with a serious looking group of  people in suits and whiteboard, for business – you gotta laugh.  BASIC was good but I wanted more power, so I learned how to program the Vic in assembler – and boy were those programs fast!

In high school we had one and only one Apple IIe.  At lunch time we would sit around that machine to program and play our own games. There was no curriculum for computers, everything we did was purely for self interest. One of the programs I wrote was to generate a terrain represented as a 3D mesh – you would draw lines representing the start, middle and end contours and the software would morph between them.  You had to watch each line being drawn. You could rotate the scene at a staggering one frame per minute.  We sat looking at the screen, fascinated at what this machine could do, with the teachers looking on with quizzical expressions.  I think we all sensed that this was the beginning of something that would change everyone’s lives.

I obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree majoring in Computer Science and went out in the real world as a programmer for a Pharmaceutical Market Research company,  The Australian Stock Exchange (working on Australia’s first automated trading system) and Panasonic's Mobile Phone Research and Development, which revolved around mobile data and connecting phones to the Internet.  Finally I started my own business and achieved financial success with my first business product called Instant Demo.  Sales began just as my partner gave up her job to give birth to our first son Alexander.

Which brings me to the present and my latest project, playing around with compute shaders on modern graphics cards.  There is a physics engine demonstration called OE-cake https://www.reddit.com/r/oeCake/ that held a great amount of fascination for me - I love physics simulations Smiley One of the things I noticed about this software was how rapidly it would slow down once it reached a certain number of particles.  A bit of thought made me realize that this was due the nature of having to check each particle against every other particle, this being a classical O(x^ 2 )  relationship (10 particles = 10x10 = 100 calculations, a 100 particles = 100x100 = 10000 calculations. Obviously not linear.  So I got to thinking wouldn't it be neat to implement something like OE-cake on modern graphics hardware, where the immense parallel processing power would help reduce this computational bottle neck.  Was it possible to have a stable physics simulator with all particles interacting simultaneously?  Maybe the answer has been found elsewhere, but I always like to work things out for myself, so I have spent a good part of 2016 developing such an engine.  Which is why I am writing this introduction.  Over the next week or so I will be asking for feedback on the engine – which I hope will be of interest to the TIGSource community.

Hi all,
my name is Ai. Yes, only two letters A and I. You can call me only "I" because that's how my name's sound like.

I am a noob in game development. I even don't know what to say here. I've been an artist since I was 4 Y/o and now I learn about game graphic art. Currently, I'm using RPG Maker MV because it is an easy software to use. I'm just very noob at game developing.
If there is someone read this, I will feel so honored.

Thank you.

Hi everyone!

My name is Al and I'm simply an indie game lover. Not so long ago, I wasn't really into indie games to be honest. But once I started getting into them I discovered a very beautiful side of gaming.

I'm particularly interested in games that leave you with an idea that you can carry into life. I just believe fun and learning should not ever be so far apart. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of people in the indie game scene and learning as much as possible from all of you.

Cheers!

Hello everyone,

I'm John Rockefeller, an indie game developer.

I've released a few games on a few platforms: Cyclone (Ouya, Razer Forge TV), Peripheral (Samsung Gear VR), Super Markup World (Web), and Potioneer: The VR Gardening Simulator (HTC Vive). I worked as a game developer professionally at Will Pwn 4 Food, which was a startup based around earning money while playing competitive games, but I have found that I prefer to have a stable "day job" that gives me the freedom to do creative stuff at night. My current day job is Lead Developer at Canon Innovation Lab in Waterloo, Canada.

Like many of you, I got my start with BASIC. My flavour was QBASIC on an IBM PS/2 at school and GWBASIC at home on my 80286. However, it wasn't until I discovered Ken Silverman's BUILD.exe from Duke Nukem 3D that things took off in a big way. I still believe that's the best 2d level editor there is. Nothing has ever been as intuitive since. Draw some lines in 2D, press a key, and page up/page down the ceiling in 3d.

After the BUILD editor, I spent a ton of time with Genesis3D then Hammer then Torque3d and now Unity.

I'm most excited about Virtual Reality because it finally gives me a chance to feel immersed in a way that I always had to pretend before.

Hi, I'm Andrew.
I've only recently finished high school and am looking forward to spending the next few months of freedom sharing some of the projects I've been working on over the last year, as well as looking at and supporting the work of others.

Hi guys may real name is Buzz and I do porn games* and cocaine**

** - I don't do cocaine...
* - I don't really do porn games, either. I haven't actually managed to get one done.

So before doing porn games I wanted to make sure that it's kosher to ask for feedback on doing porn games on the feedback boards. Forum rules say I can as long as the content isn't solely intended to shock, but I don't want to write an entire thread and then have the mods be like nah.

Hi, I'm Mark, and I've been in the software business in almost every role for decades.

I used to play games a lot, starting with my TRS-80 and Atari 400. The first real program I ever wrote was a simple baseball simulator, and I wrote a full play-by-play text-based hockey simulator where you could quickly play entire NHL seasons in minutes using team stats from any year.

I continued to play a lot of games on consoles up until the Nintendo 64, and then life got in the way. I had to "grow up." I missed out on most of the PC gaming phase. Game playing became a rarity, save for the occasional 1st-person shooter, GTA after-work anti-stress roaming and fake pedestrian violence, and a bunch of mindless casual puzzle games.

A few years ago my wife and I decided to team up to write casual games for iOS. She'd designed them on paper, and I'd develop them. I wanted to get back into games, and still do something with my hobby, which has always been programming, even when I temporarily got into management and stopped programming for my day job. I had finally left management and gotten back to programming full-time, but wanted to do very different kinds of coding after work, so I figured game development would bring together both of what I wanted to get back into.

We released one game for iOS (built on Cocos2d), "Whack the Vines," and only released a few updates. It was far short of what we wanted it to be, but it was an experimental first attempt to dip our toe into indie game development.

I had been co-running a local game development meetup group, and we had a few good meetings. I also working on another of my wife's game designs using GameMaker, planning on a multi-platform release... and then life got in the way again, and we had a very rough year or so.

But now I'm getting refocused again. I find the whole indie community exhilarating, and I know it can be frustrating, but I am dying to write more games even if I sell nothing. I know I still have so much to learn. So much to catch up on. So many games I've missed out on and want to experience. Conferences I want to attend. So much I still want to do.

I'm older, but really a noob.  Giggle

Hi, I'm NuSan and I'm from France. My day job is engine programmer in the game industry. I also studied digital arts in a french university (Paris 8 ). I like making game as a hobby, and switching roles between graphic programming, gameplay design or drawing arts. My favorites games (mainly for the mood) are Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. I also love « programmer » games like Factorio or Zachtronics games.
I did several free games on Pico 8 like “Combo Pool”, “Alone In Pico” or “P-craft”. I love this tool because you can make tiny games really fast and without the need to skyrocket the scope.

I also took part in several gamejam like Ludum Dare in solo and team. For those projects I use Unity and sometimes Three.js or Pico 8.

I try to work on a bigger personal project now, using Unity, so you can expect me to create a devlog when I have something to show.
You can find me on Twitter, Itch.io, LudumDare and Pico 8 BBS

Hey, I'm Matt and I'm a currently-hobbyist developer from the UK. I first started making games in Unity around 3 and a half years ago and I've been working on my current project, VentureVerse, for 3 years (as of yesterday). It's been a extremely difficult path, but I'm hoping releasing the game will allow me to work on games full-time through my company Final Floor Studios.

As well as C# programming, I make 3D models in Blender and 2D graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Hello, everyone!  My name is Noelle and I'm the team leader and head writer of Naive Sprites, a small indie dev group working on our first game/visual novel.  I mainly got into the dev side of games because of health reasons which caused me to be unable to work in most settings.  Without having a degree currently and being denied disability, I decided to try to start up my own dev team.
