Yes the ship parts are 3d (though there is 2d fallback for everything).

Ok, My first test of 4k Youtube, not sure i am happy with the results (the background looks blocky on the clouds?) This might take some tine tuning to figure out how to keep YT from eating it up...."

The day has come!

Having realized I cannot continue work on the 4x mode without disabling the demo sandbox stuff, I am releasing the 'Modulus Combat Demo'  to the public! (much cheering was heard in my head)

The Combat Sandbox mode consist of waves of ships that increase over time attacking a space station you must defend by designing/building ships of your own.  Resources have been disabled - GO NUTS!!11  

I added some control layout help infographics at game start - but you can hit f1 at any time in the battle room to see them again.

 
Short TLDL for play -


Game is played with KB + M and or Gamepad (including direct ship control mode ala Starsector!)-

 
A ship needs min of 5 section to be valid (And up to 100 sections) -

 You really want an engine on there (unless you really don't like to move)-
 
You really want at least one sensor/radar on there  (Cant hit what you want see!)-

The game is far from content complete (as you will see from the sparsely populated sections of usable parts and entire classes sitting empty).    

Demo doesn't have ending (resets if you LOSE, but there is no winning condition), will keep spawning ship till you die or something breaks....

OH YAH Win10 users be sure to DL dx9 runtimes!

The PIG-Squad (who I have to thank for being at this event, TY!) Got Intel to graciously sponsor/provide the monitors at the booths.

While I was up in Seattle, I met quite a few interesting folks. Lots of game devs, but also larger company reps. Got shook'n down by the Intel reps about applying for their indie accelerator program. Got to ( I think) the entire Xbox ID@XBOX program team, and oh buy that could be interesting. In fact it was that contact that has led me to (this very day) get myself a real company O__O;;

As of today, my game company is "Hunters From The Bathroom LLC"

Why? because I need the company to be able to sign docs with Microsoft! This is also a really good thing for Steam/Greenlight and possibly Kickstarter as well.



I already got web hosting and a domain, but nothing is live yet but i'll post here when it is!

General gameplay collage




I am experimenting with visible damage numbers from attacks somewhat akin to Starsector


New damage effect added to lighting shader! As parts take damage they bet random damage highlights!

Ok, some gameplay notes! –
The 4x side of the game is finally coming to life, you can now create fleet, move them around and engage the enemy in battle. Complete with persistent state storage ect.   
In general this is akin to the “Total War” series or Starsector- 
A large scale strategic map and instanced battles set in real time.
