IGF 2008 Nominee The Path is almost done.

We're pretty happy with our current beta-testing team. And time is running short. But we could always use a few more dedicated testers. Especially if you have a computer configuration that is different from the ones we're already testing on. So if you have ample free time and a Windows PC that can handle contemporary 3D games properly, please send us an email (testing at tale-of-tales.com)!

Please include:
  • a little bit about yourself (age, location, job/hobbies, game/testing experience)
  • the specifications of your computer (dxdiag.txt e.g.)
  • how much time you would be able to devote to the project before mid February

We can't afford to pay you. But if you get selected as a tester, we'll put your name in the credits and you'll get a free copy of the game when it comes out.

If this game was rated by ESRB, what would you predict they would rate it as?

We've been wondering about this as well. Since there is no explicit sex, graphic violence or foul langauge, it would probably be rated 3+! But it would be a grave error for parents to allow their young children to play this game... We're even worried about the many teenage girls who are looking forward to the release.

I've seen American McGee's Alice among games for kids in some store here in Moscow... Evil Hand Knife Right

From what I gather, it is a horror game. So even though it doesn't have violence or gore or sex, I imagine it might not be appropriate to people who do not like horror -- e.g. people who get creeped out or scared easily.

If I had a computer that can't run Portal, would it be able to run The Path?

Thank you.  Smiley
Sadly, The Path requires a rather serious games machine. On the other hand, it's a slow game. So it's perfectly playable even at low framerates.

If its requirements are anything like Endless Forest's, I think you'd need a computer system better than one that can run Portal. One that can run Fallout 3 would be more appropriate.
