I haven't really be updating the dev-log because most of what I've been doing is content, and spoilers are lame.

Anyway here's a spoiler.


I also changed from a hearts system to a 1 hit shield that regenerates. It makes the game harder in more frantic moments and more forgiving for general gameplay.

It's kinda weird how something so subtle (regenerating shields/health) can make such a huge difference, and how different that difference is when talking about melee or ranged combat in games (I really don't like cover-based shooters, personally).

This isn't canon.


I've changed out the sprite for Bawkins. She's much fatter now. Fat is good comedy. That aside, I've added a saving/loading system to the game, hidden treasures, virtual reality megaman mode, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I don't really want to spoil too much of the content, but here is what I'm thinking for the game load screen...



As you can see, it's completely unique and original.

Hopefully I can update more often, but I still post gifs regularly on twitter and ChickenSword.com

A bit of load screen in there too...


Hadn't really done any work as far as setting up basic templates and patterns for menus... Fixed that. Now it's time to refine forever until my eyes bleed. What you see above probably won't stay the same, but it serves a function.

I'm going with the 3 save system simply because I think it's elegant and it gives me retro happy feelings. Have some work to do to get all the fonts normal...

I mean, The Legend of Zelda is just Zelda, so I don't think I'll be actually changing anything other than pictures. I want it to be epic in scale... we'll see.
