So, are you looking for any testers? Cause I'd test the shit out of this.

Seriously though, if you do need any help testing let me know. I have a variable array or android / ios devices so I'd be happy to help.

Great job on the art department.
There are a lot of interesting ideas that you can tackle with this core
mechanic, explore it from all angles, best of luck.
I really like this idea, keep it up!

hi!
we're still busting our balls working on this!
we iterated on the art, redid the first levels and spent a long time figuring out what this game really is about.
these things take of course, forever! but the game will be the best we can possibly make it.

It's about falling with style.

Great art and a clever control mechanic with lots of unique potential. Definitely glad I caught this.

I know it's pretty late for this kind of suggestion but I think the game could benefit from a stronger metaphor tying the character to the controls. As it is, you've got a totally standard platforming character and my first expectation on seeing her would be to assume she can jump just fine. In any given screenshot, there's nothing to hint at the game's core mechanical innovation and I think that's a major missed opportunity.

How about putting her in a wheelchair, or otherwise strongly symbolizing her limitations visually, so that the core of the game's experience is immediately understandable?

I've been going through this whole thread and man I gotta say the art style dramatically improved toward the end of the thread. I love the main characters color palette. The white against the purple of her hair is very appealing to me. I especially love how fluid her hair animates and seemingly reacts to different situations.

As for the gameplay..it's an incredibly unique idea and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Keep on keeping on!

@dukope

I had the same idea. Let the design intuitively describe the controls to the player. However, there is the taste of the artist/animator and programmer to take into account. There is probably a happy medium for a design that describes the gameplay and one that can be agreed upon by all involved. (Although, that could be this design, who knows)

After an extended development cycle, Lucky Luna is out now on iOS and Android - free on Netflix.

You might remember the game from quite a few years back.

It's a pixel art mobile-platformer with no jump mechanic, where you swipe your finger to move left and right.

Check out our release trailer

We've been collaborating with Snowman for the last 2+ years to finish off our hand-crafted story levels but more importantly add a whole new procedural mode where you descend into endlessly generated dungeons whilst completing various objectives.

Big shout out to Snowman, they've been a fantastic partner, easy to work with, super professional and just great people.

On a personal note, this feels incredibly surreal to write after all these years but I'm really happy with the game being finally done and still think it's a pretty little thing which I hope you might also enjoy.

That's all the news I have for you today.

I'm sorry to keep everyone who posted here waiting - I hope it was worth it!

Peace,
-nacho.
